We were attracted by the description of this place when planning our trip around Costa Rica and were not disappointed. We actually loved that the journey to get to it was inclusive of a hike through forest and along the beach, as it really gave it a feel of adventure and remoteness, although we did find it disconcerting to just...

Have stayed here a few times in the past 10 years or so. Unfortunately the price has increased a fair bit since first travelling here! 3 meals a day are included and this basic camp is located shortly before La Leona ranger station at the south end of Corcovado National Park - accessed from Puerto Jimenez. If you dont visit...

We had a great time here. The setting is beautiful, a grassy area with the sights and sounds of the forest and the sea behind and in front respectively. There are lots of hammocks in front of the bungalows, great for chilling during the afternoon. The food is adequate and tasty, nothing to worry about. We really enjoyed our walks...

La Leona is the trifecta, great location, great living quarters, and excellent customer service. Its right on the beach, literally, and against a rain forest, so you're right in the middle of it all. It's also immediately adjacent to corcovado national park, an amazing place. The individual rooms/ cabins are simple but well done. The staff are great and work...

I would recommend to stay couple of nights after the hike in Corcovado at La Leona Lodge before returning to Puerto Jimenez to relax since it is very unique experience in the jungle with all the comfort.

Amazing place if you appreciate quiet and calm. You have to walk about 45 minutes to get to this place. No electricity, no WiFi, just the ocean roaring away and deserted beaches to walk on. We spent two days here after our hike in Corcovado. The staff is friendly, the food good. Beware of the riptide.

You can't write your Tripadvisor review here, because there is no Wifi. Isn't that great?! So, a great place to unplug. We were here for 3 nights and stayed in the most 'basic' tent, but it was all that we needed. Good beds, bug screens, a roof over our head, a nice deck with good chairs to read, relax and...

A truly delightful place to stay. The staff is super friendly and the surrounding area is truly beautiful. Perfect Glamping with monkeys swinging in the tree above you while you take a shower outside. If you want a more remote experiences this is the place.

The most important thing I want to mention is food. Many reviews said the food portions were skimpy. The lodge must have made a drastic change because the portions were more than adequate and I am one of those scrawny people who eats like a horse. I never ran out of food to eat and the food we packed in...

Overall a great stay at a place which is really special: only accessible on foot with 3 km walk. Beautiful cabins with fantastic open air bathroom. The tours are well organized as well. The staff is friendly. The lunch and dinner are good but very simple. As such the pricing at $20 and $25 pp are a bit on the...
