For us Proyecto Montezuma is more than a hostel or a language school. We spent one month there and in the end didn't want to leave at all. The people that are working there are not just normal employees - they love what they are doing and in the end they became our friends. If you want to stay at...

Rusty bunk beds ( no way I'm letting a child sleep on a bed that's rusting away, not to mention rust all over the sheets! ) no mosquito nets ( or screens covering the open air walls) old thin bed sheets with holes, Internet wasn't working, Dressers had missing drawers and a messy kitchen so I couldn't make breakfast. The...

Planned to stay for a week..extended to two weeks! Great place to learn Spanish and surfing. Incredible nature and sunsets. Natural pool on the property with the waterfalls and beautiful beaches a short walk away. The landlords are super helpful and will help you set up any adventure that you are interested in.

The importance of the conservation work being done in Costa Rica was reinforced further in Montezuma, where Kerri and Bill originally started PUEDO, and still maintain operations. The gang from Santa Teresa and I spent one last fabulous day together while snorkeling at Isla Tortuga and then they left me behind back in town. I spent only a few days...

Came for beaches, and relative quiet while here decided to take advantage of the Spanish class offered here. I began the class with Tony who is a patient and competent instructor. He strives to make a comfortable learning environment. The curriculum was taylored to my knowledge of the language and ultimate goal. The setting is great. Aly was also quit...

Thanks for your nice review. Tony works very hard to effectively teach Spanish to all his students. We are very happy you had a great experience. PURA VIDA!

Proyecto Montezuma has been an absolute blast so far! The scenery is amazing. The lodge is spacious and very welcoming. The walk to town is less than 10 minutes if I had to guess. Not bad at all! The restaurant across the street is also great. Thai and Alyson have been wonderful hosts and are a great asset here. The...

5:40AM. The sun is rising over the gulf de Nicoya and is already beating down the eyes of the jungles natives. Only at Proyecto can you too fall victim to the suns overbearing "goodmorning." Bring ur hammock and sleep outside and it will be the most annoying experience you will ever enjoy. If it's not the deathly rays that bring...

I stayed at Proyecto lodge for a month. During that time, pretty much every person that came to stay for a week or two ended up staying at least two weeks longer, if they had the time off. Montezuma is a lovely, friendly small town in Costa Rica. The lodge is right by the ocean and it has plenty of...

This place is one of the most relaxed and welcoming places that I've ever stayed at. Really nice and friendly people and best location in Montezuma. Not in town, but really close, only 10 min walk to town. Beautiful little beach just below and cool natural pool. Many hammocs to relax in, and the ocean is right there. I was...

“The beach house is rustic, which is part of what makes it a fun place to live. The rooms on the second floor get better breezes but if you want your own bathroom, ask for a room on the ground floor. I stayed in the side room and grew to like it a lot.”
