If you want the full adventure, you can also land in Liberia, rent a car, and drive it in about 5 hours. Interesting spots along the way are Rio Perdido, Arenal Volcano, Highway 1 south to 23 to the town of Puntarenas and 23 turns into 27 (toll road). You hit 34 south in Orotino and go towards Tercoles (Croc Bridge there), through Herradura / Las Suenos and into Jaco. I always split it up and stay at the backyard hotel in Playa Hermosa, which is 3 Klicks south of Jaco. Stay one or two nights there and then you are only 1 hour from the Tulemar. I usually hit Rio Perdido for 2 nights on the way back to Liberia. All are amazing.

Easy, contact the front desk at Tulemar and they will arrange everything! It's a three hour drive in a comfortable van (with water). You even get to stop at a souvenir area for a bathroom break and to see Crocodiles sunbathing halfway to your destination. It was a fun part of our travel.
