We had traveled around Costa Rica and stayed at other hotels, but this was the highlight of our hotels! The staff is friendly and helpful. From the restaurant we could see a whale during our breakfast, which is a buffet of a great variety of options--all very tasty. A squirrel monkey appeared on our balcony while I enjoyed my morning coffee, and howler monkeys could be heard close by. The family swimming pool was large, and few people utilized it while we were there, which we liked. The rooms are spacious and quiet. After days of tours throughout the country, we were ready to relax a couple days before heading home. We chose wisely to that end.

Wonderful resort. The staff is outstanding, with a special nod to Steven. Excellent food, lovely pools, very friendly and helpful people. Located away from the hubbub of Manuel Antonio but close enough to be easily accessible.

Wonderful resort with spacious clean rooms, pleasant pools, fantastic ocean views, friendly staff and a short walk to access a beautiful beach. We stayed in the Oceanview suite with a full kitchen which we made good use of during our stay - cooking delicious fish from Quepos and even the local grocery store closest to the resort. And not far from Manuel Antonio National Park - amazing place with a cute town - and the waterfall hike-swim at Rainmaker. Highly recommend that you stay at Shana - we would love to go back.

Wow - Shana staff made our 50th anniversary trip sooo special :) Check in orientation with Leo at the full window overlooking Biesanz Beach Bay and rain forest mountain horizon set the ambiance for o romantic adventure experience for real - not just something on a movie screen. Shana Staff are very professional, Nidia with Guest Services helped us understand the local tours and sights to experience. Security is tight, always there yet not a presence :) Restaurant is 4.7 of 5, one of the best on the Manuel Antonio area. We both highly recommend Shana by the Beach Resort :)

I have stayed at Shana a few times and always happy when I leave. Dog friendly is a must for me. Pools are clean, beach is beautiful, and staff is extremely helpful and nice. Lots of monkeys everywhere

Wish there were more options for ratings. I'd give this locaction at 3+ or 4-. The Costa Rican people I have found everywhere are wonderful so that goes without saying. The rooms are dated but clean. Sheets a bit scratchy and the mattress could be updated. Need more outlets. In this day and age, you need to have outlets or USB plugs by the bed and/or desk. We specificially chose this hotel becasue we wanted a luxury property to see lots of monkeys. Not exactly luxury, but very nice. Monkeys, well I know the hotel cannot control the animals, nor should they, but we saw one monkey in a tree and had to search to see it. I think they are told to tell the tourist the "Mafia Monkeys are everywhere." Not true, at least while we were there. The beach is private but VERY small. We checked in, in the evening and I said at check in, "if I like the room, we will be staying two nights so put us in a room that can accomate us extneding an extra night." The next morning (6AM, less than 10 hours later) I went back to the front desk and said we would like to stay a 2nd night (more conveninet than moving to another property). The same agent who checked us in 10 hours earlier now said we would have to move rooms. I said "do you not remember our discussion just 10 hours earlier?!" He said yes but things change. I said, "really, nevermind, if I'm moving, I'll go check out another hotel." Went to have breakfast after my front desk debacle and the the hostess tells me I didn't pay my dinner bill. I said "what do you mean, I put a credit card down at check in." She said "no you don't have credit." So now I was reallly not thrilled. I was embarrassed. My daughter and I had breakfast and then decided to be on our way to explore other areas and hotels. Food was great. People nice. Property decent but not luxury. You won't be disappointed at all but you won't be overwhelmed either.…

I absolutely loved my vacation at this hotel! The epitome of beautiful and serene. This will be my go to hotel whenever I'm in this area. I'm definitely planning to go back late 2024 or early 2025. Amelia at guest services took care of us so well throughout this trip. She helped us schedule a cooking class and catamaran tour. She was a great source of information. Javier in the restaurant took care of us the whole trip! He was outstanding. Anytime I knew he was there I knew I was going to be taken care of. Orlando at check in was amazing as well. Originally, we were put in the wrong room. Within an hour we were transferred into the right room with assistance from the staff. When I tell you I could not have had a better experience at a hotel, I absolutely mean that. I will be back soon. Everyone, was so pleasant and helpful. They have high ratings for a reason.…
