Had spend 4 nights over there, in the middle of the rain forest.. so beautiful, so remote, so calm. A very conscious place about environment also delivering messages about the planet. The staff is very friendly and helpful, and many activities can be organized (don't miss the river/mangrove tour) ; the food is excellent, in real harmony with the country... More

Thank you very much for your review and we are so happy you had such an outstanding time with us! We are pleased you enjoyed yourself. Just a note to other travelers reading, the private cabins have folding doors that you can leave open or close as you like, and the windows have screens. There is a door between the... More

This is a beautiful eco-lodge on the shore of Golfo Dulce, across from the Oso Peninsula. You get there by a half-hour boat ride--the hotel staff picks you up from Golfito. All the staff are knowledgable and highly attentive. The lodge has beautiful gardens and miles of hiking trails, full of wildlife, including a herd of coatimundis and a trio... More

No matter how long you stay you will wish it was longer. The meals are a gift, lodging wonderful, tours and amenities superb. We went very early June, avoided any crowds anywhere and this place in like a small fantasy island! Tour area in the morning to avoid weather. There are many kayaks to take advantage of and the fjord... More

I just spent two nights at Playa Nicuesa and my only regret is not staying longer. I went with a friend and although we packed a lot into 2 days, there was much more to do! We arrived in the early afternoon and were greeted at the Puerto Jimenez airport by Marcelo- the hotel manager. It's a short drive from... More

We're glad you enjoyed your visit to Playa Nicuesa Rainforest Lodge, which actually is a private rainforest reserve. You definitely need to come back! Two days is too short for all of the fun things there are to do here, not to mention relaxing. :-) But you definitely did a lot in 2 days! Thanks for your wonderful review and... More

This was our third trip to Playa Nicuesa. We keep coming back because we love this place, we love the setting, we love the staff, we love family style meals; it's the simple things. The location is remote, no worries about traffic, no unnatural sounds (no sounds of motor boats, lawn mowers, cars, etc), complete feeling of safety (no roads... More

We love that you love it at Nicuesa! Your description of the complete relaxation possible here was perfect. I just spent five wonderful days at Nicuesa Lodge with my 10 year old daughter. We took advantage of the morning guided tours to explore the area and to learn about the local flora and fauna. I have stayed at both Rainbow Lodge, now known as Captiva, as well as Aguilla De Oso and I have to say the 6 nights I spent at Playa Nicuesa were most enchanting and relaxed. The staff is fabulous, food tasty, water delicious to swim and boat in.

When I was searching for this type of adventure, one of the representatives told me "this place is magical". Although the reviews were all great, I laughed and thought to myself that "magical" may be a bit difficult to live up to ! If magical is the next level above excellent, Nicuesa achieved it. In my opinion, the thing that... More

Thank you for recommending us as "magical." We too think Nicuesa Lodge is pretty special, and located in such a magical setting with the rainforest and ocean still left untouched.
