My wife and I spent four nights in this lovely riverside hotel. We were in a superior room on the second floor. Clean and comfortable. A single and a double bed. A good-sized bathroom. Wi-for. Lots of windows which affords a great view of the river. Breakfast (included) consisted of a fruit plate, scrambled eggs or pancakes, toast and coffee...

We stayed for 3 nights in an upstairs room facing the canal. Our room was basic and clean and quiet. Casa Marbella is conveniently located and has a lovely deck facing the water where you can sit for hours watching the river activity and where complimentary breakfast is served. The staff is helpful and Daryl was wonderful and friendly. We...

This small hotel, or rather B&B, is located in center of small Tortuguero village, just across the church. It is simple, but well located, with a large terrace and a great view on the river and the forest across. When you rest there, you often see some neighbours, as these 2 iguanes living in the trea in the middle of...

The rooms are basic, but clean and reasonably comfortable. It is right on the river, and there is a deck that offers a nice look. The tours that were offered were marginal. One guide book we used recommended this place as one where excellent guided tours could be arranged. We did not find this to be the case. We took...

We expected an interesting B&B, but ended up with a small spartan room with a window on the main street, so could not open curtains. Heard street noises late into the night and again very early in the morning. Breakfast was good. Boat tour somewhat disappointing, did not see much wildlife and guide provided minimal information. Owner not on premises,...

This small hotel sits right on the riverfront in Tortuguero village. Sitting outside on the deck was an absolute dream location. Sat there for hours watching river taxis, many birds and iguanas and listening to the distant sound of howler monkeys. What an antidote to city life! Our room no. 9 was very clean with a double and a single...

As a frequent traveller and Trip Advisor reviewer, I normally feel quite clear about the things I want to say, which I hope will help other visitors to have an enjoyable stay. But I don't want to spoil the pleasures and surprises of staying at CASA MARBELLA by stating all the advantages . So read carefully what the wonderful host...

We stayed 3 nights here with two rooms and loved it. The location is great on the river and breakfast is good. There's also a fridge and microwave you can use, and a grocery store just a few doors down. We had a great early morning boat tour with Victor. Book that ahead. Saw lots of animals. Then spent the rest...

Big shout out to Victor for an excellent canal tour on the electric boat, he knows his stuff and was a funny dude with good stories and jokes, highly recommend. Coffee before the 5.45am departure and breakfast ready to be served when you get back just gone 9. Fruit plate with either pancakes, syrup and banana or scrambled eggs on...

First of all, we didn't have the best experience in this little town. The trip there was amazing because we opted for the bus and ferry ride which took us into very rural areas and gave us an Amazonian experience in the canals where we saw crocodiles and beautiful rainforest. It was about a 5 hour trip if I recall...
