We were traveling with friends and each got a room on the lower floor on the "street" side (really a walking path since there are no cars in Tortuguero). We loved the convenient location, great value, helpful, friendly staff and the amazing patio on the water. On our first night there was a huge rainstorm so we all just hung...

Casa Marbella is a wonderful B&B right in the middle of the village of Tortuguero. The staff was very helpful in arranging anything we asked. Breakfast included fruit, juice, coffee and tea and then pancakes or eggs and toasted baguette. The riverfront patio is the perfect place to relax. I highly recommend the superior room upstairs, number 7, with gorgeous...

We stayed at Casa Marbella the last 2 nights and had such a great experience. The rooms were so clean and the bathroom was nicely updated. Daryl Loth the owner was so nice and helpful. He genuinely cares about his guests. The breakfasts were delicious and plentiful. The coffee was so good. One morning we had pancakes and fresh fruit...

Lovely clean rooms with plenty of fans, helpful reception staff, amazing towel sculptures! Delicious breakfasts - fruit, then pancakes or scrambled eggs all cooked fresh. Perfect waterfront seating. The morning boat trip was totally brilliant - relaxing and up close to the wildlife. Toucan, caimans, herons, vultures, snake birds, howler monkeys, iguanas, otters!! We were very lucky, but the wildlife...

My wife and I spent four nights in this lovely riverside hotel. We were in a superior room on the second floor. Clean and comfortable. A single and a double bed. A good-sized bathroom. Wi-for. Lots of windows which affords a great view of the river. Breakfast (included) consisted of a fruit plate, scrambled eggs or pancakes, toast and coffee...

We stayed for 3 nights in an upstairs room facing the canal. Our room was basic and clean and quiet. Casa Marbella is conveniently located and has a lovely deck facing the water where you can sit for hours watching the river activity and where complimentary breakfast is served. The staff is helpful and Daryl was wonderful and friendly. We...

This small hotel, or rather B&B, is located in center of small Tortuguero village, just across the church. It is simple, but well located, with a large terrace and a great view on the river and the forest across. When you rest there, you often see some neighbours, as these 2 iguanes living in the trea in the middle of...

The rooms are basic, but clean and reasonably comfortable. It is right on the river, and there is a deck that offers a nice look. The tours that were offered were marginal. One guide book we used recommended this place as one where excellent guided tours could be arranged. We did not find this to be the case. We took...

We expected an interesting B&B, but ended up with a small spartan room with a window on the main street, so could not open curtains. Heard street noises late into the night and again very early in the morning. Breakfast was good. Boat tour somewhat disappointing, did not see much wildlife and guide provided minimal information. Owner not on premises,...

This small hotel sits right on the riverfront in Tortuguero village. Sitting outside on the deck was an absolute dream location. Sat there for hours watching river taxis, many birds and iguanas and listening to the distant sound of howler monkeys. What an antidote to city life! Our room no. 9 was very clean with a double and a single...
