The rooms are probably the best there is to find in Tortuguero. They are spacious and have A/C. The staff are very accommodating and try hard to please but the manager seems to be overworked and not happy. I don't think I saw him smile once. He works in reception, behind the bar, as a waiter and even took us...

We appreciate your comments regarding the quality of our rooms and we also appreciate your comments about what can be improved in terms of our food selection and staff behavior. While we recognize the complications sometimes associated with the rainy season, we will do our best to improve on the issues that you point us in detail. Thank you very...

We very much enjoyed our stay. The itinerary was very well planned and the guide and driver were very knowledgeable and helpful. They were willing to go above and beyond to make sure we got the most out of our experience. Great service all around from the transport to and from the hotel, to the greeting with drinks to the...

The Manatus Hotel is a wonderful eco lodge. Our family enjoyed our stay. The hotel becomes like small community with the staff and other guests. The wildlife viewing is amazing and the guides associated with the hotel go above and beyond with ensuring once in a lifetime wildlife viewing.

Very welcoming and responsive staff. Excellent service in the hotel's restaurant. The guides who accompanied us on the turtle excursion and boat rides to view and seek out the flora, fauna and wildlife were absolutely wonderful; in particular, Luis, Jr. and Luis, Sr. This all-inclusive hotel provided an excellent service during our visit to Tortuguero. We highly recommend a stay...

Its a small hotel but the only one in Tortuguero with airco in the rooms. That might sound trivial but in the climate conditions of this beautiful nature paradise its no less than a necessary relief after a day of activities. The hotel is the best of our Costa Rica travel, small cottages located near Tortuguero village, only reachable by...

Tortuguero is the perfect place to get close to nature. This is really a magical place! Manatus is the perfect setting to take in all this nature. Manatus is one of the smaller (if not the smallest) lodging in Tortuguero. It is the only place in Tortuguero with A/C in the rooms. A real luxury to ha e in the...

The best place to stay in Tortuguero. The staff had some of the nicest people I have ever met, super friendly, and made the experience outstanding. The food was delicious, the lodging wasn't extravagant, but it was still very nice for the location. I enjoyed every single bit of it. It wasn't over the top, but it was still a...

The Manatus is 'the' place to stay in Tortuguero. Super rooms, great, friendly staff. Amazing tours. Nothing is too much trouble for the Manatus staff, I'm diabetic and my food was served without fuss or nonsense. I wasn't made to feel that I was a nuisance. Did we enjoy our time there? ? Well !!! We're going back this August...

We very much enjoyed the 3 days at Manatus, especially the friendly staff and the good meals as well as the competent guide on the boat trips. We were lucky with the weather too. The rooms are rather old style but big and quiet. It's up to the hawler monkeys to wake you up in the morning.

Such adventure to a luxurious, small (only 12 bungalows) resort. We were enchanted by the area, only accessible by boat or plane. The wildlife were abundant and seemed to appear and perform just for us. The guide, Luis, and the hosts, Jason and Sergio, were delightful. The food was fresh and good and the whole area very clean.
