We stayed at the Anhinga Lodge, part of Pachira for 2 nights as part of Caravan tours. Access to hotel is by boat. The one room lodge with bathroom does not have windows. 'Cooling' is provided by a ceiling fan. Lodge has nice amenities such as a fun pool, a pool bar, a spa. It is amazing how one can...

My husband and i stayed as part of Hayes and Jarvis tour, the lodge was much more than we expected (due to some reviews) the lodge was sympathetically built in the jungle surroundings and you had wild life all around you, just wonderful. The food was buffet style, suited us as we like to try different things and was more...

Lodge accommodations in the older section where we stayed in no way matched the website pictures but they were adequate. Activities listed on both our tour company's and Pachira Lodge's brochures were not what we were offered. Of three activities shown, only one took place. Lodge later apologized saying brochure that I picked up from their own reception area was...

As a group of 50+ year olds we found Pachira lodge the perfect start to our 3 week trip around wonderful Costa Rica. The lodge is set in lush tropical gardens, deep in the flooded forest and only accessible by a 1.5 hour boat ride, which in itself sets the tone for your stay. We were on 3 day 2...

We stayed here for 2 nights as part of a Caravan tour group. The lodge consists of cabins, about 4 or 6 rooms to each cabin, set among lush tropical landscaping, on the banks of the Tortuguero River in Tortuguero National Park and across the river from Tortuguero town. The rooms are "basic", but no more so than those at...

As mentioned, Pachira Lodge has a few properties and we stayed at the Anhinga Lodge and Spa. The only way to get to the lodge is a 1 1/2 hour boat ride which starts the "adventure". The cabins are basic, clean with 2 beds and private bath. There are rocking chairs on each porch. The setting is rustic with howler...

Stayed 2 nights on Globus Tour. Accomodations are "rustic" - need to keep in mind that you are in the middle of the jungle and give up creature comforts such as A/C, radios, phones, TVs, computers, etc. Rooms were basic with two beds, bath, and a ceiling fan. The temp and humidity were'nt bad in Feb so fan was tolerable,...

We stayed here for two nights as part of a Caravan Tour of Costa Rica. This is a unique area and well worth the visit. There are no roads into the rain forest and it takes 1.5 hours boat ride. The bungalows were only a few years old. Accommodations were basic -- two beds and a private bath (no television,...

Pachira lodge has a number of properties in this area. This review is for the Aninga Hotel and Spa as I know nothing about the others. If you want to experience a comfortable night a national park in Tortuguero National Park, I recommend this lodge. The setting on the reiver is beautiful Each lodging is a separate building with a...

To miss coming to Tortuguero and experiencing Pachira Lodge would be to miss the whole essence of Costa Rica! You travel by boat for about 1 and 1/2 hours to get there and although we were with a group we never felt over whelmed by crowds The jungle has a humid earthy smell that I just loved. You almost expect...
