We stayed two days at Pachiro lodge. The accommodation is in lodges around the wonderful tropical gardens where you can spot birds, butterflies and if you are lucky some frogs. There are two swimming pools and the food hall whilst busy had lots of buffet points. The food was fine if a little bland after a couple of days. You...

rainforest setting, basic cabins set in gardens, the guides are friendly and vivacious, a common dining room encourages interesting conversations with people from all over the world, there are birds and wildlife right at your doorstop, and the pool is a great spot to relax, i highly recommend this place.

This was such a lovely place, although 'sophisticated' travellers might find the rooms a bit basic. They are a series of 4 suite bungalows scattered through amazing gardens. The restaurant is excellent, well capable of handling large numbers of guests in short periods. The pool are is delightful and the location is to die for !

The rooms here are basic, but nice. The wall does not go all the way up, so you will hear your neighbors if they make noise. The ceiling fan has only one speed, which is fast, so you may need to turn it off at night, but you will appreciate the speed during the day. There is an excellent concrete...

As a solo traveller, I did not expect that 95% of the people at the lodge were on package tours, and only staying one or two nights -- and this is obviously the market that the lodge caters for. The accommodations were fine and in a serene setting. However, the walks in the rainforest were limited to the "cement" trail...

We got collected from our hotel in San Jose on Christmas Day '16 by a Pachira Lodge representative and we got a coach and travelled to Tortuguero; changed to a boat for a fantastic 1 hour boat ride through the Tortuguero National Park via the canals (like a mini-Amazon) in the beautiful sunshine to the Pachira Lodge. We sighted crocodiles,...

Most people stay two nights here, we stayed one due to time constraints. Can't imagine you would stay 3 nights unless you just like sitting around the pool. Our visit to to town was ok, but nothing special.. Gives you a feel for local culture. The boat tour was nice, we did it in the morning, probably best to do...

It is, to paraphrase one previous reviewer stated, a cross between Disney's Jungle Cruise and a Costa Rican resort. Monkeys swing overhead during breakfast (the coffee is wonderful!) and sloths sleep quietly overhead. Good food and lots of fun activities. Great place for a family vacation!

I loved that we had to arrive via a 2 hour boat transfer, it was great to view the stunning scenery on route. A tropical welcome of cool towels and cocktail upon arrival then straight into a simple buffet lunch (food here is buffet style). Our lodge was large and offered great views of the gardens and local jungle. Simply...
