When we arrived for our second year in a row, we were greeted by Natalie (front office), Julian (Manager) and Eduardo(Assistant Manager) by first name like members of a family returning for a reunion. Many of the staff, Manuel (restaurant), Edgar (bartender), Angelo (guide), and Noily (World Adventure Facilitator), greeted us the same way when they saw us. It was...

We had an amazing time at the Tortuga Lodge where we stayed two nights. The staff is very nice and helpful. Our room was nice as well. The whole hotel complex was beautiful and if you're lucky you're gonna see some amazing creatures without even taking a tour. Nevertheless we booked a boat trip and it was great! We enjoyed...

Dear jaacb, You're right, Tortuguero National Park is one of the best places in Costa Rica to see wildlife. When you stay at Tortuga Lodge & Gardens and book a tour into the park, you will be with no more than 12 guests, your guide will speak fluent English and will share extensive knowledge of the lowland tropical rain forest...

We first visited this lodge two years ago, on our first visit to Costa Rica. It was our first lodge on our first trip. We were in love. Unfortunately, we had only allowed ourselves two nights here on that trip, which as we sadly boarded the boat to leave, we knew was not enough. Another trip last year, different lodges,...

Beautiful property! But, the best part about this hotel is the friendly staff! From the time we boarded the boat, everyone was so friendly and accommodating! It was nice to detach a bit from the business of life and work in The States. I loved not having a TV and really enjoying the beautiful nature around me. The hiking paths...

Dear Jessica J, It sounds like you were a perfect fit for the lodge. One of the reasons that we don't have TV's is so that our guests and unplug and concentrate on the environment, the wildlife and take the time to really rest and relax. We are delighted to hear that you were able to do just that, please...

the food was great, thank goodness since it was so remote it was the only choice. very quaint and clean. All of the staff is inviting. It is situated in the rain forest; if you are lucky enough to be able to make use of the trails (due to the amount of rain) you will see much.

The rooms are fantastic. Instead of windows you will find anti-moskito shields, which keep off the bugs, but let you hear all the rumors of the jungle. Incredible! The furniture is very nice, all made of wood, and everything is very clean. The food is excellent, nicely decorated and there is a good choice of wines. The staff is extremely...

The first thing that comes to mind when recalling our wonderful Tortuga Lodge experience is the very efficient and welcoming staff from Costa Rica Expeditions who organised transport to Tortuga Lodge. Because we were travelling with children very anxious to get there, we opted for the short plane ride which turned out to be another highlight for them: copilots on...

Dear benavidespatricia, Thank you for your lovely review and especially for sharing how much fun your children had. If you're trying to get your kids interested in nature and wildlife, Tortuguero is a great place to start. The reason is that for kids, there is always something to see and while there are certainly more birds than anything else, as...

This is our first trip to Costa Rica and we chose one National Park and lodge before a Cruise. The Lodge is in a beautiful location on a big river and adjacent to Tortuguera national Park. It wasn't the turtle nesting season and there was plenty to see without the added crowds. We had a nice downstairs room. The best...

Dear Cowgirltripper, You've given such good advice by saying that there is plenty to see even if the turtles aren't nesting. While the turtles are an unforgettable experience, Tortuguero has so much more to offer. The package that you mention is the Tortuguero Jungle Expedition, it's available on our website. The Package Includes: Two Full Days to explore Tortuguero National...

Tortuga Lodge is just lovely. We have spent 3 days & nights here & it has been wonderful. The staff are friendly, helpful & happy. Dear Me TimeBristol, You've done such a good job of describing the Tortuga Lodge experience for nature lovers! People often ask me why they would want to do more than one boat or kayaking tour into the park, the reason is that it's different every day. When it's not different, like for example when a pair of Tiger heron's are...
