You are definitely in the jungle in this place.. if your squeamish with bugs/spiders this probably isn't your place. The beautiful beach & restaurants are close.. the staff were great. Very relaxing place

I was here for one night because of a sport event. I was looking for a budget stay as I was traveling by myself. I wish I had spent more in a better hotel, I was not happy with my stay. It is very basic hotel, a little old and not well maintained. No air conditioning but a fan instead,...

I've not much experience of this kind of place. It was a beautiful wooden house in the rain forest about a minute walk to the beach. However it wasn't that clean inside, dusty rustic, an odd cockroach or two. But you get the real experience of sleeping in the jungle. The jungle sounds are amazing, howler monkeys etc- you won't...

Went down with my girlfriend for a week, stayed 3 days at PCL on the coast. If you have a problem with lots of nature, look elsewhere. If, like myself, you recognize that a jungle has insects, birds, and monkeys and don't mind the background music, you'll love it. Simple furnishings, but very relaxing. An afternoon spent sleeping in the...

The hotel/night life/beach/attention was great, but we stayed 7 days and since the breakfast was included we took it everyday at the hotel's resraurant, however everyday was the same, eggs... Very dissapointing as one of the highlights of Puerto Viejo is the local food... The beds were really old, took me almost 4 days to find a comfy spot to...

Positives: beautiful location, located in the Forrest ...we could see monkeys, sloths and toucans from our balcony. A 200m walk takes you to a beautiful beach. Staff are friendly. Free basic breakfast and WiFi (WiFi could only be accessed in main reception) Negatives: basic room. Uncomfortable bed with springs digging into back. No hot water. No blanket on bed so...

Beautiful beach with wild nature and very friendly people. A must go to relax, enjoy the nature and have a good time. Local food is good and spicy, they have fresh seafood. As the owner is Germany, they add a nice Germany twist.

Yhis is the ugliest hotel I've stayed in my life. The rooms are dirty and ugly. The place is just awful. The bed sheets are old and stain the towels too. The bathroom is the worst part. It looks like never been clean. There are a lot of hotels around fot the same price a 1000 times better than this...

We stayed 9/20-9/27. It was my husband and I with our teenage daughter. We got married on the beach during our stay. When we arrived we were warmly greeting by owner, staff, other guests and the lodge doggies : ) We wanted, and are used to staying at rustic places, so there was no disappointment. I would suggest if you...

We expected rustic, we got neglected and shabby. Holes in mosquito nets covered with peeling tape, beds so small my wife's legs stuck out the mosquito nets. She got over 50 bites in one night, while I slept fetal position to keep my legs inside the tiny net and bed. The fan barely moved any air and was a very...
