Puerto Viejo de Talamanca, LIMON

We saw an advertisement for a pool party and went to see. We were very impressed with the beauty of the garden walkways landscaping and the tall trees, The area was well attended by several staff members and the Mojito was excellent. Signs saying "drug free" and "no smoking" and "you are being video recorded" all added to the sense...

This hotel was terrible, the first night we arrived we were shocked at the bare conditions of the room that we were sleeping in. The sheets on the beds was very thin and they smelled as if someone had been sleeping on them already. They were not fresh at all!!!. The bathroom had this humongous dirty and dingy bath tub...

Originally gave it 3.5 stars but I am forced to downgrade. The location is still great, of course. And the breakfast is good. But the pool is dirty, cloudy. I was looking forward to taking a dip in the pool after walking around in the heat, but no. If you don't care about the pool, Agapi is a good basic...

-Had a great time in here. Rooms are very comfortable -It is right in the sand and 600mts from Puerto Viejo downtown. You can go bycycling. -They include the breakfast, which is national food and buffet style, so you can eat a lot. They don't offer meal or dinner. -Pool is big enough and fun, with a coupe of Jacuzzis...

We spent 3 nights at this hotel. First night was fully booked so had a small extremely basic room - but rate was negotiable. Next 2 nights - upgraded to a second level apartment size suite - all wood - teak top to bottom - big - great view of the ocean and wonderful patio. Breakfast is included and was...

The location is great, you are steps from the beach, air conditioning in the rooms, surrounded by forest, howler monkeys in the evening, lovely pool, ok breakfast, nothing fancy. Just a good place to relax within walking distance of bike rentals, bars, restaurants, and a convenience store. Like everybody in this sleepy town, the staff are friendly. Only negative was...

For the price range between 120-150 $, you can find much better options like costa de Papito ,cariblue, totem, etc, total lack of maintenance and the beach in front of the hotel is not usable you have to walk to others to get in the sea, room distribution is next to the main road so makes the place noisy.

After multiple trips to the area, Agapi is my favorite lodging on Costa Rica's Caribbean coast. Location is perfect - on the southern edge of the bustling village of Puerto Viejo, and halfway between the center of Puerto Viejo and famed Cocles Beach. The lodge is locally owned, is beachfront, has a wonderful diversity of guests, has an array of...

We stayed at Agapi February 8th, 2016 until the 10th. Room was okay and average clean. Good air conditioning. Only complaint about the room is that the bathroom had an odor of sewer the time we were there. We did not spend a lot of time in our room just to sleep and shower but very noticeable smell. Also moldy...

I give this hotel one star. The management was not friendly to their guests at all. If they were maybe I could have over looked the fact that our room smelled of mold from the molding material light fixtures. Or that they use way too much chlorine in their pool causing the whole area to smell toxic. Or that their...
