We stayed 3 nights at the hotel with our 2 children. We had an amazing bungalow with a huge terrace but no hamac ;-) The children loved the salted swimming pool in the evening and we enjoyed cocktails and food at the restaurant. The garden is amazing, and from one bungalow you cannot see the others such the vegetation is...

This hotel has around a dozen cabins scattered around the property. There are several kapok trees, one truly magestic. The gardens have grown wild and simulate a beautiful jungle creating a unique natural environment and adding to the privacy of the cabins. They are made of wood and somewhat dark inside. The bathroom is large and decorated with artistic ceramic...

Romantic; private; clean; best food in town. Lovely owner and workers. We will definitely stay there again. The bungalows are beautiful and surrounded by trees, so it felt like my partner and I were sleeping alone in the jungle. The workers are attentive and friendly. We tried many restaurants in town, but kept eating at the hotel, because the service...

The hotel was great. The front desk staff and waiters were amazing (RJ and Roberto!). We were taken care of above and beyond. The grounds are beautiful and well cared for and the bungalows were amazing. The bungalow was much bigger than expected and even though it didn't have A/C, the fan was usually enough to make it comfortable.

We ended up here because the hotel we had booked was closed! My husband had worked here ten years ago so we decided to pop by and check the rates,They were very reasonable to say the least. We had a beautiful jungle chalet, and I mean beautiful. The rooms are individual cabinas away from the reception as as such,,give the feel of spaciousness...

We loved our thatched bungalow and its simplicity. The ceiling fan was adequate during our stay. The bathroom mosaics were funky & there was enough storage. We were treated to a cocktail one evening which was a lovely gesture. As there weren't restaurants nearby we ate at the lodge and the food was good. The staff were very friendly and...

The pool setting is very nice. Grounds are well kept. Most bungalows don't have A/C, but it wasn't that hot while we were there. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We also rented bikes for the week, so we could ride into town and to the beaches during daylight hours. Maria at the front desk is exceptional.

Shawandha used to be much cooler and had a great vibe, but has lost a lot of it. The bungalow we had and total infrastructure are dated and very unkept. The ladies tending bfast were always in a hurry, every answer we asked for was answered with a big "no". Now that the road is paved in front it has...

Hi traveler. We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff was very helpful and nice, the owner maded her rounds to make you feel at home. The bungalows are spacious and clean, the bathrooms are unique and HUGE. In particular the bathrooms of no 13 and 14. The bungalows have A\C, so you can dry your hair with the föhn...

I hope they were just having a bad night. The restaurant ambience and staff are great. The food, not so much. I had a pina colada and the heavy pour was nice especially since it was around $9. I got the tropical fish which was supposed to be a little spicy, cooked with coconut milk, cumin and curry. The fish...
