This was my second time there, love the grounds in the jungle, yet not far from main road and across from the beach. The location is cool because it's between Puerto Viejo and Punta Uva, $4 taxi ride into town. Was a little disappointed that there was construction going on so the Thursday night Calypso night wasn't happening but the...

We got to this hotel at around 6pm after driving all day from La fortuna. They gave us a cabin that was definately not up to par with what they have to offer. We went to ask the Henry who worked the front desk and he changed it right away and gave us a better room. This new room had...

These guests had reserved the cabin which is simpler and less private than the bungalows and costs $30 less for the night. We upgraded them to a bungalow after they arrived. I’m so sorry for the bad impression I gave these guests after they had such a good stay. My 14 year old son had just told me he had...

Really liked the bungalows and the owner and all the employees were really great. Paticularly the young lady who was serving breakfast had such a great vibe and smile really lent a great touch to this well located place. You can walk to the beach easily and also very close to great restaurants and bars. Thanks to Eddie (owner) for...

Our experience at La Costa de Papito was exceptional. This stay exceeded our expectations. The bungalows were clean, secluded, and exuded character. Watching the storms from our covered porches was a highlight! A quick walk to the beach, bikes to rent, and close proximity to town made exploring delightful. Eddie and Auxi made our dream beach wedding a reality. They...

My husband and I happened onto La Costa de Papito after a friend recommended we visit Puerto Viejo. We were charmed by the artistically crafted bungalows and the beautiful surroundings. We liked it so much we extended our stay. The owners (Eddie and Auxi) were warm and accomodating. This hotel is unlike a Marriott or Sheraton and if that's what...

This is the way to experience Costa Rica! La Costa de Papito is a unique place, LOADED with character. The staff showed us real genuine Costa Rican hospitality. Being from Austin, I love a bit of funkiness and artistic-ness. The grounds are beautifully landscapped, but not overly groomed. One caveat, if you are looking for and "institutional type" Holiday Inn,...

I am so happy we found this place! Thanks to the good reviews on tripadvisor and the very reasonable price we booked this place for two nights. We were in the region to visit the Sloth Sanctuary (30 min drive from La Costa de Papito) and it was love at first sight. The bungalows are exceptional (clean, comfy, fun design)...

Our family (including 2 teenagers) had a great time during our 5 night stay at La Costa de Papito. The grounds are beautiful and our bungalow (#3) was awesome (the shower is like a cave -- plenty of hot water too). The front desk staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. I am so grateful for their help in planning our...

We went for three nights to the Costa de Papito. The rooms were nicely decorated and the staff is really charming and helpful. We had a few problems with the hot water but that was resolved by the management. Be sure to ask for a room without the electrical hot shower. These things never work in Costa Rica and any...
