Cheapest place for backpackers in Puerto Viejo only $8.00 but I wonder if it was worth it as I'm getting shivers writing this and reliving staying here. I think I slept for 5 hours in two days. I got savaged by mosquitos. The sheets seemed like they were dirty. Rooms smell, dusty dirty and damp and I didn't have a...

we are flexible and easygoing backpackers. so it doesnt have to be extraclean and superquiet. we are happy with little. that is why we still enjoyed our stay at sunrise backpackers hostel. we were there in low season, so i guess it is usually a bit louder. the 10 or 12 bed dorm was so spacious. comfortable beds. the bathrooms...

I stayed at this Hostel for one night in a private room for $14. I can't describe how disgusting it was! Everything was damp, it smelled like mildew. Blankets, walls, windows and the floor were dirty. Several holes in the wall. My Fan didn't work. When I asked for another one I got one that I had to dust first....

I've probably stayed in a couple of hundred hostels in the last 15 years or so, and this place is right at the bottom of my list. A filthy, dirty, squalid hostel where the bathrooms are rarely cleaned and sheets and pillowcases are stained. A large sickly looking cockroach tried to stay the night in my room but I (literally)...

I just walked past this place when i was looking for a histel and decided to check it out. I liked it! $7 per night for a dorm! When I was there it was very quiet. Staff were friendly. Bathrooms were clean enough. The internet was strong and the internet room excellent. The dorm was spacious and not at all...

This is a boisterous backpackers hostel right on the main strip by the bus stop. The walls are paper thin and there is music all night, so you definitely need to be in the mood to party. Relax and sleep somewhere like Pegalu (though the staff there is a bit rude, but I'm getting off topic). So yes, great location,...

I stayed here for 4 nights. it is said a lot of bad things about the staff here but it is merely because they cannot speak much English. I speak Spanish so I got to know them a little bit. The girl at reception, Cristina, was super friendly and helped us with anything we needed. I came back after a...

Overall, this place was dingy and uncomfortable. I was planning on staying here 2 nights but left after 1. I was traveling with a group of three people in Costa Rica/Panama for one month, and our last stop was Puerto Viejo. We arrived at this hostel due to its central location and proximity to the town center. Of the many...

Don't go here!! I chose this because it was close to where the bus dropped us off but guess what? Everything is close. The first thing I did when we got checked into our room was use the internet to find a different hostel for the next night. For that, I thank Sunrise. It was the worst hostel I've ever...

Basic rooms and bathroom cleaness is adverage, this hostel would be grate with a "usable" kitchen and better common area. Coustmer service needs a lot of attention too Pice is good for $14 privet shared bathrooms
