Stayed here with my wife for 5 nights. For the price we paid we thought they exceeded our expectations. We live in Costa Rica and you travel to budget friendly hotels you really never know what you will get. The bed they had there was extremely comfortable and we slept like babies every night which is exactly what we were... More

Great location, quiet, charming, hammocks are great. Good value. Nice to have a kitchen. The fans work well also. Owner was very easy going and helped protect our bikes at night. The best breakfast place 'cafe rico' is just down the road

This place is fine but nothing more. It's not that there was anything awful about just that there wasn't anything really good either. The main plus was the girl on the front desk who gave 2 very good recommendations for places to eat. It's fine for a couple of nights.

I stayed in Hotel Guarana for 2 nights earlier on this year. I was welcomed by a very friendly french young man who was very eager to please. I arrived a bit early so my room was not ready, but after a little bit of sightseeing I checked in. The hotel is in an excellent location, just 3 minutes walk... More

Guarana is an awesome little place close to pretty much everything in Puerto viejo. The staff is really laid back and super nice! The rooms are large with a private bathroom. There is a shared kitchen if you would like to grab food at the market and cook. Great place to stay in Puerto viejo!

Cabinas Guarana is simply great. A chill, no hassle atmosphere, quiet setting a block from the beach and center of town, relatively inexpensive ($30 a night for a private room), clean, comfy, and a shower I wasn`t afraid to use. The staff is so friendly and they rent bicycles by the day so you can get to the nicer beaches... More

We stayed here in April and found the room to be quite large and clean with hot water, ceiling fan and private terrace complete with hammock. There was a double and a single bed in our room both with mosquito nets. The staff were friendly and rooms were cleaned and towels replaced daily. There is a shared kitchen - this... More

We really enjoyed our stay at this nice little gem of a hotel. The cabins are very clean, a good size, pleasantly decorated, comfortable and quiet. Many rooms (ours did) feature a cute private terrace with a hammock , table and chairs. Great spot for morning coffee and afternoon Happy Hour. The shared kitchen is well maintained and clean, it's... More

In our hotel in San Jose we found a brochure for the Cabinas Guarana, liked it and decided to try it - good decision. No trouble with booking the rooms via internet (upon arrival we even got a small discount for paying cash). The room - including a small safe - was spacious, bright and clean. So was the bathroom,...
