My husband and I stayed at Selva Bananito Lodge for 2 nights during our recent honeymoon and can not say enough good things!!! We were concerned about staying in such a primitive place but couldn't have been happier!! The lodge really made you disconnect from everything else and experience the jungle fully! Our host Harvey was incredible! He was polite,... More

The staff was so friendly & made you feel at home! The room we stayed in had a great view & bed was comfortable. The activities were so fun & the area was so beautiful! The food was beyond delicious! I wish we stayed for 3 nights instead of 2. I recommemd this lodge to anyone who enjoys the outdoors... More

This is a five star (five leaf) lodge, and ecotourism at its best. We travelled with grandparents and children and both had a wonderful time. We were able to explore the jungle on foot and from the air and in-between, learn about the history of the area, and ride horses to a lovely swimming spot on the river. Our very... More

Our trip to Selva Bananito was truly amazing. My husband and I traveled there wanting an immersive experience that offered a good birding experience, and that is exactly what we got and more. As the other reviewers have mentioned, it is an adventure to reach and driving our 4 wheel drive rental vehicle through the rain forest and through a... More

Where to start...The lodge itself is not easy to reach. It's a 11km drive with 4x4, on complicated paths, and crossing several rivers. The drive can't be done at certain times of the year, so you'd need the staff to get you and cross the rivers with a zip-lines. But that is part of the experience, and it's really worth... More

Selva Bananito is incredible. My wife and I stayed there for two nights on our honeymoon, and we had a blast. The owner is a great person with a strong passion for conservation and eco-tourism. We highly recommend Selva Bananito for anyone who is interested in exploring the rain forest in an authentic way. The food was excellent, the guides... More

Best place we stayed in. Personally, best place I´ve ever stayed in. The people that work here are incredible as well as the owner. The experience is huge. Great work they have been doing towards a big sustainable development. Do not lose the chance to stay here. No wifi because it becomes totally unnecessary.

This is a delightful rustic lodge at the foot of the Talamanca Mountains on the edge of beautiful primary rain forest. The owner, a very much 'hands on' Jorgen, is a great enthusiast for conservation, sustainability and eco-tourism. The bungalows are well appointed, comfortable and airily open to the surrounding natural habitat; you will see hummingbirds feeding only a few... More

The lodge is place up a little mountain in the middle of the jungle. The whole property is owned by a German family in second generation. Aim is to protect the area as a natural reservation. The tours you can do there are amazing, the ranger have a huge knowledge about the area, animals living there, everything. The housing is... More

Wonderful food, candlelit dinners. Lovely lodges, especially enjoyed the hammocks. Loved the 4 hour horse ride (we are not riders). Saw wilderness, birds, wild animals in primary and secondary forest. Didn't want to leave
