We stayed at El Encanto for three nights in July 2010 (myself, my partner, and our children aged 10 and 14). My "average" (three star) rating for the hotel needs explanation. The hotel itself is way above average, but some service concerns means I couldn't give it the same rating I gave for some other places we stayed in Costa...

We only stayed for one night, but we loved El Encanto. The gardens are beautiful and the atmosphere is very peaceful. Our room was very clean; we didn't see any dirt or bugs. Even though there was no A/C, the ceiling fan kept the room quite comfortable, especially at night. Breakfast in the morning consisted of a large fruit plate,...

We were extremely pleased with El Encanto. The place is a protected retreat walking distance from downtown Cahuita, with a large protective gate surrounding the internal gardens, main house with open eating area, and multiple cabins on the property. We really enjoyed our conversations with the extremely kind, personable, knowledgeable, and warm Isabel, the owner. The room was lovely and...

A bit more expensive but very nice and worth the money. Beautiful cabinets, beautiful gardens. Best breakfast we had in CR, you get fruits, good coffee, toast, juices eggs, panecakes…. It’s right between the center and playa negra. So you can walk to both of them in 5-10 minutes. My wive got sick by eating something wrong in one of...

We stayed in the self catering appartment and were very impressed with it. Lovely high ceilings, GREAT walk-in shower, comfortable bed, balcony overlooking the tropical gardens. The staff were endlessly helpful, especially as one of us was ill for several days of our stay. They could not do enough for us. We will definitely go back there!

Excellent and frliendly bed and breakfast within easy walking distance of everything in Cahuita. It was quiet, safe and secure inside its own gates. The beach is just across the road. It is a great place for all travelers.

Good 'cabin' type accommodation with helpful and friendly owner and staff close to the centre of Cahuita. The 'apartment' is really very nice, spacious and relatively cool in the humid heat. Have not seen the small house which you can also rent. Unlike many of the local hotels, there are spacious and well-planted grounds with an abundance of wildlife. Very...

El Encanto is a really charming B&B just a 5 minute walk outside the center of Cahuita. Its rooms are beautifully laid out in a cottage style - we even had our own kitchen and a balcony. The gardens are inspiring - creating an alternate atmosphere from the Caribbean. It is a short walk through Cahuita to the Cahuita National...

We stayed with our two children 15-18 for four days, in the house of the hotel. The garden is amazing and we had a very special dinner cooked for us by the french owner. She arranged for my sons surf, snorkling and horse riding on the beach. We asked at what time the swiming pool was closed, and she said...

My husband and I stayed at El Encanto for a few days during our honeymoon and even decided to extend our time in Cahuita to take advantage of this place even longer! From the moment you enter the secure gate, you are met with lush green landscaping and can easily relax in the hammock on your private patio, listening to...
