This lodge and the thatched roof bungalows are a gem in Costa Rica. The property is very secluded in the jungle, there birds, monkeys and sloths all around you. It is right next to the park entrance, and 2 blocks into town, for food/supplies. This is my 3rd stay here over 15 years, and its one of the most special...

Stayed here for three nights with my husband and it was a really relaxing place to stay. There were no air-condition, which made it a bit to humid and warm for us, but I have no complaints about the place and the surroundings. Monkeys in the trees and beautiful flowers.

There are many accommodation in Cahuita. We tried two and preferred Alby Lodge by far. The cottages are located close to the National Park, to the Main St., where there are places to eat and a couple of souvenir and grocery stores, and close to the bus terminal (with the only ATM in the town and 2 more places to...

Our 1 hour stay at Alby Lodge consisted of insects, heat, and unfriendly owners. Sure, the beach was an enjoyable experience, but that was it for the enjoyable experiences. When returning from the beach, we were verbally assaulted by the female owner, who was clearly under the influence of alcohol, began shouting racist comments and eventually drove us out of...

This was our third hotel in Costa Rica. The second was not great, so we were a little apprehensive about it. We had seen it earlier because we were in the area, but looks can truly be deceiving. However, in this case they were not deceiving at all. It is a very nice place. Our hosts, Yvonne and Thomas, were...

I stayed at Alby Lodge for 3 nights on my own and then, after my husband arrived, we back to the lodge for another 2 days, thought we were planning to stay at another location. Yvonne and Thomas are great hosts. The place has only 5 lodges on the edge of the big old garden full of monkeys, sloths, eagles, birds,...

We spent 6 nights here and loved it. Once you walk up the driveway, you seem to be in a beautiful paradise far from the town of Cahuita. The bus station is a five minute walk, and the beach/National Park 10 minutes. The acreage is a private and well-maintained garden. The cabinas were very clean, and the only negative things...

Imagine laying lazily in your hammock in the shade and everyone you turn there is beauty – flowers of every shape, size and color imaginable, hummingbirds and crabs. You hear the sounds of screeching parrots and peeping frogs, and look up just in time to see a capuchin monkey with a baby on its back leaping acrobatically off coconut palm....

Comfortable bungalows, beautiful garden, great kitchen, nice staff! Its located less than 5 minutes walking from everything in Cahuita: Bus station, supermarkts, national park and the town centre. Nonetheless extremely relaxing and quiet.

This was our second stay at Alby Lodge. We enjoyed it so much last year that we had to come back. The location is great, just a block from the park entrance and about 2 blocks from the main street of town where the restaurants are found. The driveway is almost hidden, just follow the wooden signs. Bring a flashlight...
