We've visited Villa Alegre a number of times throughout the years, and the owners, Barry & Suzye have always provided a lovely setting and a relaxed atsmophere that allows you to do pretty much whatever you'd like. The beach is right outside and you can gather shells, find the tide pools, or simply wander along the sand. The pool is...

Looking around in Tamarindo for accommodation I found by chance Villa Alegre, my dream villa. Situated practically on the beach, overlooking the ocean with the big waves, a nice pool, green garden, nice decorated rooms, a cosy living room, relaxing music, breakfast on the terrace and most important the friendly, warm hosts Suzye and Barry. They certainly make a unforgetable...

Although we only stayed in Villa Alegre one night, we had a great experience. Barry met us at the door, gave us a quick tour, and gave us a ride to town to help us pick a restaurant for dinner. We had a relaxed stay for the night and a delicious breakfast with Barry and Suzye the next morning overlooking...

Two weeks ago three of us stayed in the spacious Russian room and had two nights of comfort, peace and relaxation. We had not been to Tamarindo for several years and was astonished to see the growth and development. The Villla Alegre was just as we remembered it, however. Lovely grounds and common area including the infinity pool looking over the...

They provided us with plenty of information on the local hot spots and made delicious breakfast for us every morning. In addition they had wonderful friendly housekeepers! The house itself is...

Spent four days at Villa Allegre in Feb, 2014. Barry and Susie are great hosts. We stay in B&B's often and this Inn rates high on our list. The Japan suite was spacious and unique. The pool was a perfect way to start and end the day. Breakfast were different and terrific each day. Sunsets at the entrance to the...

Very friendly and accommodating owners . Room spacious .Very Quiet except for the birds chirping in A.M . Close to a rocky beach. Breakfast was good .Distance to town is not recommended because no sidewalks. The owner was willing to drive you to town .

A group of my friends (24 people) rented the entire Villa Alegre and it was an AMAZING experience. The house staff were some of the nicest people we met in Costa Rica. Suzye and Barry are very knowledgeable about the area and Costa Rica in general. They provided maps, directions, and catered to our needs as best they could. If...

Our group stayed at Villa Alegre for 5 nights and it was an incredible experience. We were greeted by Barry, one of the nicest hosts I have ever met. Each morning started with an excellent breakfast. Juevos rancheros, smoothies, fresh fruits and Blackberry butter that was to die for. And that was just one morning! The pool area has plenty...

We booked for 3 nights having read the glowing reviews on Trip Advisor but were sadly very disappointed. We felt Villa Alegre was very over priced for what it offered and that the general standard was not as good as other places we stayed on our trip for nearly half the price. The house is pretty tired and outdated (it...
