if you are 22 and looking to party tough, stay here. otherwise, i can't recommend it. yes, there are a lot of beautiful young surfer wannabes hanging around drinking, and i'm sure it wouldn't be too hard to get laid if that is your priority, but really, don't you want more from your trip to Costa Rica? totally messy, dirty,...

i've been there for 3 days at the private rooms, that are brandy new and located on a quiet place in the hostel. The owners are very acessible and ready to solve everything you need! If you look for fun, this is the pace to stay in Tamarindo

I traveled to Tamarindo for the second time this year. I am a seasoned traveler and usually stay at hotels or Airbnb - but something intrigued me about this place. I had walked by it often in the past. Everyone was always laughing and having fun! So this time I figured "why not" why not try it out? So I...

Had a hostel cancel a booking last minute and found the Oveja negra. Stayed in one of their cabin rooms which is big and spacious and included breakfast of the menu. The hostel is also a surf school and has a good bar and pool and fußball tables. Busy place, with a relaxed and party vibe full of surfers. Thoroughly...

Very happy about my find! I had a last-minute cancellation on another booking, and even though this hostel was fully booked, the management was able to figure something out and get me into a room. The stay was comfortable and nice. I really liked the ECO friendly atmosphere of the whole place.. Nice bathrooms and showers, more like a little...

The best hostel of Tamarindo, the stuff people speaks at least 3 languages, they are very friendly, the Mexican food is cheap and good ! The parties are excellent! You can also rent boards for a very very cheap price cooperated to other places. Viva la oveja !

We spent only one night here in-between other bookings. We got a private room with a private bath. It was affordable compared to hotels in the area. It was updated and clean. The best were comfortable. It rained quite heavily the night we stayed there and the roof was pretty noisy. The staff was friendly and served us a nice...

My first night in Tamarindo,I had all my belongings stolen literally within hours of checking in.and the next day was Sunday so everything was closed. It was a nightmare to say the least. I had been traveling so for two and a half months , and now had no cash, cards,I'd,or phone to contact anyone. I wasn't cared for the first...

The staff here were really cool. When I arrived in town, I realised my whole backpack was taken off the bus! It wasn't an ideal situation but I still had my passport and valuables in a small bag. The next day, then owner gave me some shirts and a nice pair of board shorts which I still have. We had...
