This hotel is located just on the edge of town which gives you a feeling of retreating from the hustle bustle (which is minimal) of the main drag in Samara. The grounds are stunning and are cared for meticulously. The pool was a great place to hang out and was clean and well maintained. Owners were helpful and had beach chairs you could take down to the ocean (5 min walk) for the day. Rooms are basic but fit the bill as the room is not were you are spending our time. Free parking on site was a plus. Can't recommend this hotel enough. We loved our time here.
I and my family stayed at the Belvedere Hotel in Samara last week. It was excellent. Good points;- Mark the owners son arranged a taxi for us to get to San Jose Airport efficiently and cost effectively. There was unlimited free coffee in a room next to the pool There was a conservatory next to the pool to sit in when it rained as it does in the wet season between sunshine Lots of attention to detail Food was good at breakfast Easy walk to the beach through town Good restaurants locally Coffee in the room was great. Mark offered the hotel tumble dryer to dry our rain forest wet clothes from the jungle trek we had just been on, as difficult to get wet clothes dry in Costa Rica in the rainy season. This was a big benefit as we would have vey smelly bags flying back home on the plane. Improvements suggested Toilet in room 18 water input pipe valve ran on, but I fixed it by lifting the top lid and fiddling with the controls…
We were traveling through Samara for the day and just going to stay the night. After ten minutes here, we went back to the office and booked another night! The property is beautiful, lush, and well maintained. This is a family owned place and much pride is taken. Mark and his father were very nice and helpful during our stay. I also enjoyed loving on the two hotel dogs! The hotel is walking distance to the town and beach, but it was very nice to not be in the mess of things right on the main strip. They had free beach chairs that you could take with you to the beach. The place had a lovely clean pool with outside shower that was perfect for a morning or afternoon dip. I enjoyed the hammock outside of my room and watching the hummingbirds. The room had everything we needed including a coffee pot, safe, mini fridge, and working A/C. There was a lovely breakfast area upstairs with a fabulous view. All of the staff were friendly and helpful and kept the property very clean. If traveling through Samara, stay here! I hope to visit again one day.…
We got very lucky and found this place just when we needed it! As 50+ ye olds we were staying at a hostel with young people and no air! It was also very run down. We managed 3 nights and checked into this beautiful hotel. The landscaping and plants are just amazing. Also had a beautiful pool and A/C! Monfred owns this gem and he has been there 30 years. Very close to town. 5 min walk but quiet location. Perfect spot!!
We were at a hostel with no a/c for two nights, very primitive so we changed to this place. Omg! It’s beautiful! Private, clean and so relaxing. Monty saved the day by getting us in the room ASAP. The pool is amazing and overall a great stay!! Totally changed my opinion of Samara!
The owners of the hotel were so welcoming and helpful with all of our questions! The rooms and grounds were spotless, not to mention beautiful. The hotel is a 4 minute walk through town to the beach. The walk gives you a chance to scope out where you want to eat and shop! An added bonus was watching the Howler monkeys swing through the trees each afternoon near the pool area. Thank you for a wonderful visit to Samara!
Vey nice hotel, its like a mini resort, in a lush tropical setting. Its just one street off the main street, but a short walk to the shops, restaurants and the beach. I stayed in the main hotel section, with a beautiful salt water pool, in a tropical setting . They also have an additional section, just up the street, with another pool which was also very beautiful. They have a nice little gazebo, where you can just relax, read.... My room was exceptionally clean, and comfortable. The owners were helpful friendly, and arranged for shuttle service back to the airport. This is the place to stay if you stay in Samara. Very happy I chose this hotel.
Had a great time here. The hosts were great. Our room was in the new building, second floor. Room was clean, a/c, in room fridge and safe. Location is perfect; all these posts about being 15 minutes from the beach, not sure what they're doing. It's 0.3 miles from the room to the beach, a 5 minute very pleasant walk through town. Not advertised, but free use of beach chairs, towels, and umbrellas, which turned out to be a big plus. Also loved Samara, small and quiet. Good size for the 5 days we were there. Beautiful beach. Might be completely different during peak season. No crowds at all. Also "rainy" season here was different than in the mountains. Sunny all morning, some afternoons with clouds, a couple of evenings with rain. Overall perfect weather.
My husband and I stayed here for one night in March. Before our trip to Costa Rica, our return flight was cancelled so we had to tack on an addition night at Hotel Belvedere because our rental house was not available. The hotel is located a block up from the main drag which made everything walkable but was away from the noise and crowds of downtown. The property is compact and very nice. Our room was clean, the AC worked great (very important in Samara, and not all hotels have AC), the bed was comfortable. The hotel staff was very nice and efficient. Although we tend to prefer rental homes to hotels, this hotel was comfortable and convenient and had 2 nice pools that we enjoyed. I would recommend.
Hotel is located for an easy walk to the beach, Main area of Samara. There’s a small market close to hotel for essentials. The staff are extremely friendly and the rooms very clean. Our room was 25 ft from one of the pools. Advise when visiting: no ice or vending machines (we didn’t care)WiFi is not reliable. TV shows are all in Spanish. Just a few inconveniences but we would probably stay there again.
