I booked this hotel based on the great reviews, beach and pictures. I am a huge Tripadvisor researcher and reviewer and have never been disappointed before! This place was not at all what I was expecting! Ripack is in the middle of nowhere, the taxi...More

Wow what an interesting review for someone who was at the property for less than an hour. Upon arrival you discovered that you were in Playa Grande not in Playa Tamarindo so I can understand your disappointment in not having a big town or lots...More
What can I say other than we loved it!! Nice quiet location and great food. Ms Nubia was so helpful with setting up our rental car and answering questions before we even got there. Nice clean rooms and two pools to chose from. Very convenient...More
I have stayed at RJI three times over the past few years and I know I will return. In May 2012, I signed up for a 5 day yoga and surf retreat - the staff, rooms, local yoga and surf instructors, the restaurant, the food,...More
We just picked it at random, but what a fun place to stay. The beach is steps away through the trees, there are two pools, a yoga studio (a yoga retreat was going on while there), and a good open air upstairs restaurant. We planned...More

The beach at low tide is great for kids to swim and play and there some really cool tide pools that my daughter loves to hang out in and see all sorts of fish. At high tide the waves come in and that's when people surf so it can be a little more difficult for children. Playa Grande breaks in several different locations so if you are a beginner you can simply choose a more mellow spot away from the main break. If you are looking for surf lessons you should contact Frijoles Locos as they have the best instructors and they are all certified.
Hope that helps!
