Last year at this time my husband and I were supposed to be spending the first part of our honeymoon at Hotel Las Tortugas. Due to crazy weather in Texas we weren't able to make it down to Costa Rica at all. The owners Carey and Luis were amazingly understanding and honored our reservation one year later when we finally...

Yes, the location of this hotel is good. And, yes the staff are friendly. However, the first sign you encounter is "to watch all your valuables", and the rooms are so dirty! The shower had so much mold, the room was so stinky. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights but checked out, thank goodness, after 1. Also, the...

August 2016 - Low season - Beginning of rainy season/Costa Rica winter - hot/humid - rain over night and brief showers on a couple of days. Plenty of sun and warmth throughout the week. We began our stay in the Las Tortugas apartment #7 - The Greek. The apartments are the cool kind of quirky and conveniently located in the...

I've stayed here 3 times. Staff is friendly, the restaurant's good is pretty good (be aware that the prices you see don't include taxes), rooms are comfortable. Very calm, not a busy beach which is perfect if you don't want to worry about your belongings on the beach.

This was a last minute stop when some plans fell through. Very nice people and the hotel is right on the beach. The hotel has its oddities but over all they have tried to maintain it. (Sheets were clean!) Very affordable and we enjoyed our brief stay. The beach is gorgeous!

Hands down the best family beach vacation we've ever taken. Now mind you, I have two teenage sons and am, when out of my home of Houston, fairly low maintenance. I say this because THIS IS NOT THE FOUR SEASONS. Think of it as more like "surf camp." You are 10 meters from the most beautiful beach in the entire...

Wife and I staid here for a few days. Room 10 is decent but would have rather been in room 11. Unfortunately it wasn't available. The grounds are very nice and the wildlife was always a site to see and hear. Especially the howler monkies feed in the mango tree over the parking lot. The beach and sunsets can not...

This place is all about the location. It's the only hotel on Playa Grande, a surfing beach, which is really the only reason to stay here. The food was good, but not exceptional, and pricier than other options. Like other reviews here, my room was in need of repair - ceiling, bathroom...I forget what else, but that's what I put...

We stayed in room 3. It's not the type of hotel I would prefer to stay at however, it is literally walking distance to the beach. I was also told and read reviews that this is the only hotel that is walking distance to the beach. If you're OCD like me, this may not be the room for you. The...
