Spent 2 weeks in CR early December 2013 and this was our favorite place for quite a few reasons. Gail was super helpful with getting us settled in, set up surf lessons and set the bar pretty high for the rest of the trip. The room was comfortable and we got our best nights sleep here. The restaurant served great...

We loved our stay at La Marejada hotel, which is conveniently located a few minutes walk from Las Baulas Marine National Park where we wanted to go and see the leatherback turtles nest. The hotel has a direct access to a 5 km beach which is very popular with surfers. The sunsets will take your breath away. As for the...

We arrived at La Marejada Hotel in Playa Grande about 4 pm. ‘Looked like a swampy area, a collection of junk across the street. Expecting to be unimpressed, owner Gail greeted us & quickly made us feel welcomed. It was the beginning of the season (November 1), which may explain the eyesore of dead appliances & other debris. When our...

Wonderful small hotel with immaculate pool and garden and friendly helpful owners. Our room was spotless and the bed super comfy - by far the best night sleep we've had in Costa Rica. The hotel is 2 minute walk to the beach in a quiet location but still close to the handful of other hotels in the area. Would highly...

La Marejada Hotel is the perfect mix of ingredients for our family. It is relaxing, clean and well appointed. Carli, one of the owners, provided excellent suggestions for family activities, made arrangements for surf lessons, and gave us a ride through the jungle to the river between Playa grande and Playa Tamarindo. After the days activities my husband and I...

Inexpensive AND perfect - my two favorite things! Right by beach, excellent restaurant with fish tacos to die for! Clean and comfortable rooms, refreshing little pool, personable owner, and right by the beach and rest of the little town! The most amazing beach in all our travels in Costa Rica - awesome shells, huge soft sand beach, friendly people, and...

I love this little inn/hotel. Great people that run it, plenty of places to eat nearby, and surf steps out from the front door. Rooms are clean, nicely built, quiet and everything works in them unlike a few other spots around the area. Highly recommend!

My daughter and I stayed there for 10 nights. We were looking for a small, cozy and clean place for our stay in Playa Grande. Well, we got it all and much, so much more!!!
