This is the worst hotel I have ever been. I stayed there literally 20 minutes with my family after seen the room we got. It was dirty, I mean really dirty!!, It looked like a horror movie room. There was no privacy at all. The rooms address to the Public Street, no walls or anything in between. There was a... More

Went here for a quick lunch while out on my own and ordered the beef taco's. They were a little different than what I expected but looked really good. They fried a corn shell and placed it inside a flour shell held together with a dab of black beans. Unfortunately the meat seem like it had been sweetened, a little... More

Anytime I see "luxury" in an advertisement for an accommodation I look further, seeking authentic satisfaction. This small inn, with about a dozen rooms, bar and restaurant has American-influenced authentic in spades. I stayed a month.

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the Inn. Price was right, room was small but clean. Staff were friendly and helpful, owner Lynn very nice. Enjoyed the pool, nice view from the restraunt. Food was great and reasonably priced. Beach a short walk. Regulars and locals friendly. My one concern was the driveway, very steep and rutted.Playa Flamingo beach is... More

During our travels in Costa Rica, the Mariner Inn stood out as the best value. At $39 a night it was a very pleasant surprise. Our rooms (we stayed in two different ones because we arrived without reservations and had to move after one night) were very acceptable. The little bar/restaurant with a view of the bay was great -... More

Upon our arrival, we were instantly greeted with a warm welcome by the owners Lyn and Larry. Initially our plan was to stay only a few days, we ended up staying for a month. Once we were there we realized that the Mariner offered everything we were looking for; great central location, 300 m from one of the best beaches... More

Your options ... stay at one of the big resorts on Flamingo beach and pay close to $200 a night, or pay closer to $39 a night and spend the money saved on dinners. It was an easy decision at the time, but I would pay a bit extra and go elsewhere next time. The bamboo trees that line the... More

In this case you get what you pay for. Yes very cheap rate but not worth it in this case. The room was a dump. There is a sign wich says from the management " we are not responsible for anything". That pretty much covers them I guess. But what tops it is I went for a half hour run... More

LarryMI, Owner at Mariner Inn, responded to this review

The complaint was that something was moved, not his drawers. I explained that there could be no copy key because just prior to his check-in I had purchased and installed a new double lock set and he was the first and only one to have a key. He said he was a carpenter and I did not install it. He... More

Uncertain at first but WOW!! Food was the best we had in the area and the cheapest!! Not fancy or pretty but if you want a taste of the town this is where to go! For a family of five it had something for all of us.
