This hotel is in a great location! It was only about a 5 minute drive into the town of Playa del Coco. If you take a taxi, it was only about $4-5! The town had a few bars, restaurants, shops and the beach of course. Our favorite bar was Zi Lounge (awesome all day happy hour). It is pretty touristy but there are also a lot of locals that party and hang out around there. If you wanted something more upscale, we found a nice beach club about 7 min away called Pacifico Beach Club (they have food, drinks and a pool and are right on the water). Our favorite beach was about 15 minutes away called Playa Panama, the water is more like a lake and very gentle so we did some kayaking. Let me know if you have any more questions!

May marks the transition from the dry season to the rainy season in Costa Rica. Usually the day starts sunny and then some afternoon to early evening rain. But the Northern Pacific is the dryest area of the country so you can expect a couple days without rain. It is a great time to come, less crowds, prices are down and scenery turns green and lush.
Hope this information helps!
