Last time We were staying at Jw Marriott , this time we choice w Conchal for recommendations from carlos ( pininos adventures) The room was perfect...a welcome place to nap after hours in the sun. The pool was magical...we spent a lot of time quietly on the edge of the pool watching the birds and the ocean. The food was really good. We went into Tamarindo twice for dinner, but otherwise enjoyed the meals on the property. If you looking for an excellent personalized excursions book with Pininos adventures , this great family business will take care of you really well, we highly recommend to do Atv tour, snorkeling boat trip and Buena vista combo tour , they also help us to bring us from Liberia Airport and shuttle service to Tamarindo town .
I stayed at this hotel in March, 2021 for my birthday trip. It was excellent. I decided to treat myself and got a Fantastic Ocean Suite. It really is fantastic with incredible views over the ocean, plunge pool and a really comfortable bed. Shower room with a view is pretty cool too. The hotel is on a Reserva Conchal gated property, so it feels like a true escape from everything. The beach club at that hotel is great too - if you're into cool music vibes, solid drinks, infinity pool and a beach view. This is the place to stay in that area. If you feel like doing some activities, make sure you contact ConchalFun. That tour company is outstanding - Andrei, the owner, will make sure that all your activities are very well organized and memorable.
I stayed at the W with a friend in January 2021. . The hotel was beautiful and we were impressed with our room, they even upgraded us to a treehouse suite halfway through our stay! The staff all took Covid precautions seriously and we felt safe throughout our stay. There was some sort of "influencer convention" happening while we were there, which was a bit strange but quite entertaining. We were not impressed with the swiss tours desk at the Wand booked all our activities through Andrei at ConchalFun who was amazing and much more affordable.
This is a nice W hotel. Fairly new, although suites are starting to show some wear and tear. Room cleanliness is far from spotless. Front desk and reservation staff needs much more training. Restaurants are good, and restaurant staff is better trained. Overall a nice experience, but not a 5-star property.
Despite a few issues, my family and I had a fantastic time at the W Reserva Conchal. My wife, six-year old and I spent 5 nights at the W in mid March, after spending 3 nights at the Andaz Papagayo. We enjoyed both properties but enjoyed the public areas of the W considerably more, especially the pool in the beach area. The restaurant spaces were are also very comfortable and attractive. Overall, it was just a fun and relaxing stay for all 3 of us. The location is also good as there are a couple of attractive nearby towns with dining options, should you want to venture off the expansive grounds. We loved the staff, even though at times the level of training and knowledge was a bit uneven. Gerardo, Andrey and Jordan were especially helpful. On the other hand, I did not feel my Marriott Titanium status was recognized in any particular way when I tried to change my room location for a better view. We booked a suite which while fun and very large at first glance, had impractical furnishings and layout. The plunge pool looked great but was too cold for any of us to really enjoy. The front desk manager, Stephanie, tried her best to accommodate us with any requests despite seemingly limited authority. She did, however, help in ensuring we were able to obtain the required covid tests for re-entering the USA when the testing capacity at the sister priory became a little overwhelmed. We definitely plan to return to the W. We booked all our transfers and tours through ConchalFun who I can recommend without reservation. The Covid situation can make anyone nervous, but Andrei and his staff at ConcalFun were always patient, knowledgeable and reliable. Not to mention that we had a blast on the Rio Celeste and ATV tours we booked! …
