If you are staying overnight in transit, the place will be fine for you. If you stay multiple days, and are not fluent in Spanish, it may be a bit challenging. The highlight of this hotel was the breakfasts with fresh mango juice, as well as the air conditioning in the rooms. We came to realize quickly the hotel was...

I've stayed at Hotel Javy twice now, and can honestly say it's my favorite part of Liberia. Xavier and Isabel are both incredibly nice and gracious hosts, the free breakfast is superb, and the lush plant life in the courtyard creates a cheery, cozy environment in an otherwise loud and at times dirty city. I've been traveling in and around...

Even under normal circumstances we would sing the praises of this wonderful, caring, family owned hotel in Liberia, Costa Rica. But we found ourselves in the most difficult of all times, our daughter was in a serious car accident and was in the ICU at Hospital Enrique Baltidano, in Liberia. Hotel Javy is located only a few blocks from the...

I had a very comfortable 4 nights stay at Hotel Javy. Beds and bedsheets are replaced everyday....rooms very clean and the airconditioner is very good. The rooms are under the shade of big mango trees so it is shaded from the heat. It is fully gated and the breakfast is excellent. I am very happy to choose Jotel Javy for...

Although we didn't have an awesome time in Liberia (not much to do, especially if you don't speak spanish!) but the hotel itself was great, clean, loved the fresh fruit, and the staff, although we didn't come across any english speakers that worked there (thankfully had a translating app) were sweet and smiley! If you need to spend a night...

We stayed here on our first and last days in Costa Rica. It is kept very clean and the staff is friendly and helpful. It is set back in a side street at the end of Liberia, so it is a lot more peaceful than hotels closer to the airport. My only complaint would be that it is hard to...

We stayed here our last night in Costa Rica and it was a wonderful experience. The woman at the front desk (also the cook and matriarch as far as we could tell) was one of the kindest people I met in Costa Rica, which is impressive considering how nice everyone is here. Her English was about as good as my...

I absolutely loved this hotel. It was a little hard just to make the reservation over the phone, as there was of a bit of a language barrier, but it ended up working out quite well. From the moment we showed up the staff were amazing. Isobel, the owner, let us leave our bags there early before check-in and they...

The hotel is clean and well maintained with a genuine staff. We had a delicious home cooked meal in the evening with smoothies and felt like family. The owner had breakfast ready at 4:30. A great end to our vacation.

This friendly hotel gave us by far the best breakfast we had in Costa Rica: excellent fresh fruit and mango juice as well as a huge plate of the traditional rice, beans, sausage, egg, cheese and plantain. There is secure car parking inside locked gates. The room was OK, nothing special, but it scores highly for value (compared with all...
