We ended up staying here for one night, after spending nine days in Nicaragua, but needing somewhere to crash for the night before our flight out of Liberia. The rooms are cramped and definitely have seen waaaaay better days (peeling paint, damp floors/walls). The mattress needs to be replaced. However, there was a good cross-breeze with the fan at night;...

Spartan rooms (I've tried single room), REALLY loud loud air-con and nice, but little chaotic staff. But it's really close to both city center and both bus stations. Restaurant is small, but ok and not overpriced.

This hostel was terrible. There weren't many budget options available in Liberia, and I only wanted a quick stopover to see Rincon de la Vieja. I arrived in the afternoon and after settling into the room, I realized that there were bed bugs literally crawling ALL OVER the bed. I showed the staff and was moved to a different room....

For $11 I got a room with a private bathroom a 2-minute walk from the bus depot for my 5am ride to San Jose. It's also 2 blocks from the Maxi-Pali so you needn't even splurge for a restaurant meal. This is no Ritz-Carlton. Rooms are Spartan and the mattresses could use replacing, but the property is very secure, the...

This hotel was surprisingly nice and clean! I came here as to the cheapest option in Liberia (9 USD for a small room with shared bathroom, which is for Costa Rica conditions unbelievable). After reading the reviews of other travellers on tripadvisor and hostelworld, I expected a "cheap Thail hotel" type of accommodation with cockroaches everywhere, eventually bed bugs. I...

It's simple but clean, the service is excellent. Loved the restaurant, comida típica with Casados and Gallo Pintos on the menu. Great cooking. A lovely atmosphere. Stayed a week and would have stayed more. You choose if you want to share a bathroom or not and even if there's no air conditioning, the climate and the ventilation are great. No...

Riu are an amazing chain of hotels. We have stayed in quite a few around the world but this one really is a 5 star hotel. The animation team work really hard all day long from 10;00 am right up until well after midnight. The bar staff are all excellent especially Yenory Gomez Leal. She remembered our drinks every night...

This choice was by need not choice. Room was fairly clean, no hot water and I have a closet that is bigger than the room I was given. We got in late at night and were leaving early by bus and this hotel was only a block from the terminal, so no cab was needed. There is a bar with...

“The rooms facing the trees were awesome, you could see the monkeys in the trees and it was far enough away from the entertainment.”
MPJBKK, 4 May 2015 | Read review
“Do not stay in the Jungle room as you will hear the monkeys all night if you are a light sleeper. There was three of us Adults staying in a room and we asked to have a family room which was one king bed and a double, other than that you will get a room with two double beds stuck together. Make sure your patio door is closed tight in order for the A/C to work. Ocean view is always the best!”
