The location of this lodge is good, it has nice views from the side of a mountain. It's easy to drive to, it's close to town (with a car) if you want to dine there, and a convenient place to stop by if you're heading to Guayabo (definitely worth seeing for the pre-Columbian ruin city). Otherwise, the lodge actually felt...

We arrived on a wet cloudy day and the hot showers were more of a dribble so not a good start. But from there everything got better with a good selection of food, beer and wine in the restaurant and great views once the clouds lifted. Rooms are comfortable but there's no sound insulation between you and the restaurant below....

This rustic lodge on the winding road just past Turrialba and on the road to Siquirres has lots to offer besides the breathtaking views of the surrounding valley. You can select from white water rafting tours hikes around the lushly landscaped property, canyoning tours and even spa treatments. Lots of value for your money here as the room are nicely...

A friend and I stayed in rooms 1 and 2 in the main lodge and loved this hotel. We wanted a 'country view' after staying in central Turriabla, and boy, the views are INCREDIBLE. The hotel is situated on the side of a mountain overlooking volcanoes (including one sending out smoke plumes) and beautiful green valleys. So peaceful and relaxing,...

This was a great place to stay. We were in room 2 and had an incredibly beautiful view. The room was comfortable, clean, and very pleasant, despite the fact that, as others have noted, the walls, floors, and ceilings are paper thin. The view was spectacular, and we loved that they had board games for us to borrow. The breakfast...

We had an enjoyable two night stay at the Lodge. Sadly too cold and damp. Rooms are fine but could do with a makeover. However price was fine. Restaurant served good breakfast and dinner

After a beautiful day rafting in the Pacuare River, my husband and I stay at the lodge. Our first impression of the place was an amazing feeling of peacefulness. The nature surrounding is spectacular; the view from the top of the mountain is just WOW! They have a nice path around their property, it's a bit muddy and you need...

I had booked this hotel for two nights on our way to Punta Uva, but our stay was cut short by a cancelled flight. We arrived sans-luggage (thanks TACA!), to a comfortable and clean room (although a bit dated and slightly musty), in a beautiful location. We stayed in a room in the back (caribe) which had large sliding windows...

The morning after I arrived at Hotel Turrialtico I showed up for breakfast holding my mud-filled Keen sandals dangling from one hand. I asked the waitress, Rosa, if there was a place I could use to scrub the mud off. From the expression she gave me I think her first thought was that I wanted her to clean them up....

The lodge itself deserves 5 stars. Very nice rooms, although the walls are indeed very thin. There's like 18 rooms, but there were only 4 guests and they still put us right next to eachother. Not smart. The staff is very friendly and helpfull. The restaurant is really good. Lots of people stopped by for lunch, also non-guests of the...

“The less expensive rooms offer the best views, but are above the restaurant. Spring for the more expensive if you want to sleep past 7am.”

“Try for rooms 14-18 and you'll have a quiet room with a beautiful jungle/garden huge window on one entire side. Good sized rooms.”

“Check the rooms, before checking in. The top floor rooms would be good for morning coffee with a view, but see if they are big and clean enough. No views from the motel style rooms, I think, but am not sure.”

“If you stay in the lodge for the quaintness, be advised that the walls are very thin. You will hear your neighbors and the diners below and they will hear you. The rooms in the extensions are much quieter.”
