My husband and I stayed at this gorgeous resort looking for a relaxing getaway. Hotel Rio Perlas fit the bill perfectly. We stayed in the Honeymoon Suite overlooking a stocked trout pond and lovely waterfall. In fact, everywhere we looked there were waterfalls. This resort, no longer affiliated with the Barceló chain, is located about an hour east of San Jose near the little town of Orosi. It is really a Shangri La.
