We slept in the huge 2 beds room (around 50m2 with the bathroom) near the breakfast room The room was extremely beautiful and clean The breakfast was enjoyable and the staff very nice and helpful The...

Grandpa's is a place I look forward to returning to soon. We enjoyed our stay there immensely. The accomodations were marvelous and the location for our travels wonderful. The owners and staff made sure we were comfortable and we felt right at home with all of the interaction and the homemade breakfast. All the guests interacted with each other and...

The people running Grandpas are always doing their best to accommodate guests. They go above and beyond doing this making it a pleasurable stay from the moment you get off the plane till the time you leave. The location is beautiful being on the mountainside with clean air and lush green grass and well kept gardens.

Very welcoming staff who were available when needed but otherwise were "behind the scenes." And they were great cooks, serving full and delicious breakfasts. Take a sweatshirt; evenings get cool.

The hotel is on the rustic side. We stayed in a wooden cabin. No frills but clean and the staff was exceptionally nice and helpful. The inexpensive laundry service was a big plus.

I cannot remember the name of the gentleman who helped us, but he was very kind and considerate, even giving us beers! Breakfast was delicious of Pinto Gallo and fresh fruit and delicious...

Very good situated on the flanks of the Volcan Irazu National Park. We had some delays driving thru San Jose, so we needed a place for one night in the Cartago area. We noticed the Grandpa's Hotel sign and decided to stay there if they had a room available. The staff is very helpful. They even helped out with the...

“The room off the back side of the breakfast room is huge, with two comfy double beds, plus a good size bathroom. There are two recliners and a "bench" covered in carpet along two walls, which makes the room a great party room for a bigger group. The only downside is there is not a mini-fridge in the room to store beverages for the party. On the upside, the kitchen crew let us store beers in the fridge in the kitchen :)”
