A plain entrance but nice small shop. Our room was in building three, regular-sized with updated decor and a modern bathroom. It was pleasant to sit on the small balcony and look over the rainforest. Unfortunately the room was situated a distance from reception and the wifi strength was so poor that we had to leave the room to use it. The walls were thin and we could hear the neighbour's plumbing, tv, and snoring. A lovely fresh breakfast buffet was offered with multiple options. The pool area looked nice although we spent little time there.
Nice central location. Room was clean and had a balcony with a view, unfortunately there was fog the 3days I stayed so I didn’t get to actually experience my view (not the hotels fault obviously). 20minute downhill walk into the heart of town, I did not walk back up as I took Uber ($2-well worth it). Breakfast was good. The soda Rodriquez next door was fabulous. Overall nice experience.
We stayed here as part of our tour. We were a little dissappointed with the Hotel. The location is really good but the whole place is a little tired. The rooms and lighting within was very clinical and the bathroom had a nasty smell. The technician came up to fix it and he removed a lot of hair and gunk from the shower fitting which helped a little but not a lot. Also there was no hot water for the 2 nights that we were there BUT we alerted the manager on leaving and his response was if you had told me I could have had it on within 10 minutes. I feel this should have been on in any case. The manager would have been aware that as we were on excursions that we would be back 5 ish. Its unfair and unnacceptable to turn off the hot water in a hotel. We were 15 people staying in a specific row on the same floor. Breakfast was average…
We stayed here for a week. We had a lovely room with a deck to sit out on & enjoy the landscaping & couple fountain pools. Breakfast was included & it didn't disappoint. There was a nice main pool with a swim up bar 🍹. We had parking & good access to walk to other restaurants. I would highly recommend.
This hotel is located just at the bottom of the Arenal volcano and all rooms are facing it so you will get to have a stunning view in the morning as soon as you open the curtains. During our stay we had the breakfast included so we went every morning to Lina’s restaurant just beside the hotel reception. Even though it was advertised as a buffet we got to order from the a la carte menu everyday (Maybe because we visit this hotel during the low season and they did not have enough guests to run a full buffet service). The common areas of the hotel are great with a beautiful swimming pool and different jacuzzi pools to enjoy the view of the volcano while taking a very relaxing bath. There is also a pool bar. The hotel is not located in the heart of La fortuna but the reception staff will be always willing to organise the taxi for you that takes only a couple of minutes to take you to the town centre and costs only 4 to 5 US dollars. All restaurants we visited were happy to call a taxi for us once we wanted to go back to the hotel.…
This hotel is marvelous. Everything is clean and pretty and up-to-date. Rooms contain plenty of amenities: extra plugs for electronic equipment, comfortable beds, refrigerators, facilities for making coffee and tea, and excellent showers. The restaurant features fresh, tasty food at reasonable prices. There are lush gardens, a lovely pool, and outdoor hot tubs. The staff was kind and very competent. I enjoyed sitting in the garden watching the raptors circle overhead. Ask for a room with a balcony overlooking the magnificent volcano. I highly recommend this place.
Our family of 6 recently stayed at Hotel Magic Mountain and had a really nice time! The best part was our spectacular view of the Arenal volcano! The location is further away from all the hustle and bustle of the town but still near plenty of shops and restaurants. The pool was a lovely break from the summer heat! Rooms were clean. Had an issue with a big ceiling leak in one of our bedrooms and the staff was quick to relocate us to a different room - turned out good for us because we were on a higher floor with a spectacular view! Would definitely recommend!
As soon as you pass the cold and not very welcoming reception area- you enter a world of comfort. Lovely garden and spa area with spa bar. Fantastic breakfast buffet and a very friendly staff. Great room with balcony overlooking Arenal volcano. Stunning view! The hotel has a very good location and we could walk to a variety of restaurants.
Just checked out after three lovely nights at this hotel. Good location near plenty of shops, restaurants and laundrettes. Very nice and clean pool. The room was very clean, and the bathroom very spacious and well equipped. Breakfast was delicious !
My friend and I recently traveled to Arenal for the weekend, and we loved our stay at Hotel Magic Mountain. The location was fairly convenient to the center of town/different tours and hot springs. The restaurant was decent, and the employees were all very nice, ESPECIALLY the pool bartender Fernando. He was so welcoming when we first got to the hotel and was so friendly and nice to talk to. He made delicious drinks and gave us great recommendations on things to do in the area. Highly recommend this hotel, but even more so recommend stoping by the pool for a drink from Fernando!
