Where to begin. If you are considering a stay here...just book it. I do a lot of traveling and this place ranks #1 for me. It was such an experience. To wake up to a pot of freshly ground coffee, views of the volcano, sounds of howler monkeys and hummingbirds whizzing by...what's better? I cannot think of a single thing...

We visited here with our family of five. From milking the cow in the morning, beautiful horseback rides to waterfalls, personalized staff who make you feel part of their family, this place really made for wonderful memories! Each room has it's own, unique feel. Eating breakfast and dinner with other families made for great conversation and an opportunity to hear...

I went to this wonderful resort with my two daughters ages 10 and 12. They were first time horseback riders and boy did they love this place. It is clean, quiet, and full of fun things to do for people of all ages. The food was really better than expected as well. This was the perfect place for kids who...

Leaves and Lizards is located in one of the most spectacularly beautiful areas of Costa Rica. The grounds are lovely and lovingly maintained, the views of Arenal are incredible, there are birds and wildlife everywhere, and the food they serve is fresh and tasty. Mix in the availability of horseback rides, waterfalls, and a pool (scheduled to be completed by...

Joe, thanks for your kind words. They mean so much to us. Over the last 10 years we have enjoyed the journey of our growth and all the great people we've met along the path. Creating space at Leaves and Lizards for our guests to connect back to nature and to themselves is an honor for us. Debbie and Steve

My boyfriend and I stayed in the Volcano room at Leaves and Lizards for the first four nights of our 3 week adventure in Costa Rica. Waking up to a clear view of Arenal volcano in all its glory is truly spectacular. In addition to that view, the room itself was great, done in the style of a log cabin...

We took our granddaughter and stayed for 5 nights. The owners were fantastic to work with and helped us schedule several fun excursions. We loved the horseback ride to the waterfall where we had a refreshing swim. We had a great bungalow that had a large glass window facing the volcano, which was a fabulous view to wake up to...

My sister and I stayed here on the last leg of our 2 week sisters vacay. As 50 somethings we (ok I) felt the need to do some crazy things on this trip. We started with surfing, but I think riding a horse was more scary for me. These people are pros!!! Our horseback riding day began with Oscar helping...

Even if all you are looking for is an Eco Lodge it is a really lovely one. The "cabins" are stunning and luxurious, the restaurant is delicious, the service is fabulous, and the location breathtaking. But it is also so much more. The owners have worked to make this place a true spot for renewal. From all the handpainted and...

I stayed here with My husband and kids at the heliconia house. We wanted a nice hotel with good activities but needed a good price. The heliconia house is the cheapest cabin in the place beacause it is right next to the reception and on the way to the farm so it is not as private as the other cabins...

We stayed here about 3 years ago. This is not the type of hotel we ever stay at - I can admit that we are total princesses when it comes to hotels. Our favourite type of hotel is boutique luxury but laid back and natural - not your grandfather's white glove version of luxury. I also am very introverted so...
