We were so excited to stay at The Tree House Hotel. Our experience was amazing from step 1. Mark and Lucy were accommodating right from my first inquiry. They went above and beyond to ensure our stay was amazing. We were not disappointed when we arrived. The Tree House was so amazing. Super comfy beds. The rocking chairs on the...

Thank you so much Keri! It was great to have you stay with us. It's always fun to relax in the mornings with a hot cup of coffee and watch the birds and animals come by at eye level. Looking forward to seeing you down here again!

The tree house was an amazing experience and I recommend that everyone who goes to Costa Rica spend at least one night here. The tree houses themselves are just about everything you could expect from a "tree house." They have running water with good water pressure and good air conditioning. The room I stayed in was very clean, and actually...

We stayed at the Tree Houses hotel for two nights. We arrived at 6:30 pm, which we we got taken to task a bit for, but we were still able to make the night tour on the property. The tree houses are beautiful and just sitting in the wonderful rockers on the balcony is a relaxing experience. I was wonderful...

I'm local and I can say that I have visited many hotels in La Fortuna but no one like Tree Houses Hotel. In my opinion, this is the best option near La Fortuna. Mark and Lucy are excellent hosts. Good job Tree Houses!

This place was a lot of fun and a great place to stay. It is nice and secluded with a really great trail down to the river and waterfall. We saw howler monkeys and endless colorful birds. Listening to the rain forest sing was magical. Rolando, one of the night watchman, does a free nighttime wild life walk. He graciously...

the only real complaint i have is my own fault.. not staying longer. VERY american-friendly (nice way to transition back into the "real world"), great service, incredible lodging, delicious food. don't think twice about booking this place. better than any picture or review can portray. we had a family of howler monkeys wake us up each morning, but that is...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write such a great review and for the suggestions, Amy and Kevin. We try to tell people about the difficulty of the hikes, and the Rio Celeste is a moderate-plus hike. It was great to meet you and we hope to see you here again in the future.

There's nothing I can say that hasn't been said in all the other reviews, but this place is fabulous! We stayed in Yiguirro which I think was the most secluded of the treehouses at the back of the property. Make sure you spend a day just hanging around the grounds and taking the trail down to the river - the...

I cannot rant enough about how much I love this place. My fiancé and I love the outdoors. We are huge animal and nature lovers. Therefore this hotel was the perfect place for us. We stayed in the Guatusa treehouse for 4 nights (the entire time I was in Costa Rica.) It is absolutely gorgeous and private. It has a...

Congratulations again on your engagement, Kristen! We're so happy that Tree Houses was able to be a part of the tales you can tell your family. Patricia, Seidy and Yania take a lot of pride in the breakfasts that they prepare and are always thrilled when people really enjoy them. We spoke to the owner of Happyland and let him...

This place was great. From the moment I contacted them via email, it was a nice experience. The staff, the breakfast, the tree houses: everything was fantastic. We went on the night walk and saw many fun nightly creatures we normally would have not seen on our own. They have a great trail on the grounds and we saw monkeys...

As you arrive at reception you are greeted by hummingbirds, and a really friendly dog. We stayed in the Sloth Treehouse, I loved the fact you can walk all the way round and sit on the porch watching the forest. We loved the trails and especially the moment we so the sloth, (helped by the staff) The sounds of the wildlife...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 5 tree houses (each very private) on 8 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica. ... more   less
