Tree Houses Hotel is a bed and breakfast hotel conveniently located off the main road that runs through La Fortuna and around the Arenal Volcano. We are a short 25 minute drive to the high tourist area. People seek us out with that in mind, to be away from it all but close enough to enjoy all the fun adventure the La Fortuna, Arenal Volcano area has to offer. We have just 7 tree houses (each very private) on 10 acres and we are surrounded by a 70 acre wildlife refuge with a waterfall, pools to swim and a beautiful river. Each tree house features A/C, warm water showers, refrigerators and safes. There are few hotels like this in the world and none other in Costa Rica. There is something so very exciting about spending the night high in the forest canopy, wildlife all around you, safe and cozy in a tree house hotel in Costa Rica.

The first thing we saw when Karolina welcomed us upon arrival was their t-shirts in support of street dogs and I instantly loved the place. Jess and Karolina are such welcoming hosts. They had lots of information and recommendations on where to eat, activities (if you wanted to

This was my second stay at the Tree Houses and it was just as wonderful as I remembered it four years ago! Jess and Carolina are amazing managers and were super responsive from the moment we booked to our bittersweet goodbyes. They accommodated for food allergies during each

Hola! Thank you so much for coming back to Tree Houses. Hosting return guests is truly a huge compliment.... We will always accommodate for any allergy during breakfast, because we want all of our guests to feel comfortable and confident that their stay here will go without hiccups... Due to the humidity of the rain forest most everything stays wet, and we feel that one shouldn't have to compromise comforts, to be one with nature, so the A/C is amazing. Juan Carlos is exclusive to Tree Houses and really has an understanding of flaura and fauna. He is very accommodating to all ages and people walk away with wonderful memories. Thanks for stopping by and reviewing us!

Hi there, Thanks for submitting your question. We can help you arrange transportation no problem. Just let us know your flight information, and someone will be waiting for you with a sign at the airport. We have worked with the same company for over 10 yrs. This is exactly the place to come and unwind, 25 feet up and in between the trees, you can disconnect and create your music. You may have some help from the surrounding wildlife:) While you are here if you do not rent a car, we can arrange a taxi for you, no problem. We serve breakfast every morning, included in your stay, and for lunch and dinner, there are several restaurants nearby, a grocery store and there are a few restaurants that deliver food straight to your tree house. Thanks for your interest in our tree houses!

We went in March (kiddos were 10 & 14). The hanging bridges were really cool. We stayed at a resort by the volcano for a few days and then added on a couple nights at the Tree Houses on the way back to the airport. Spring was really nice weather, fall would be rainy. It's the kind of trip to plan ahead and look for airfare sales or maybe a bundle deal on travel sites. Would highly recommend to anyone who loves nature.

Do the tree houses have private bathrooms?
Yes but it is fairly primitive. I mean they are indoors and clean, but there is no a/c in the bathroom - it is open air.

I has no safety concerns. The tree house grounds are private, with a locked gate at the road. I would have been comfortable there on my own. My son and I had such a great time there!

We had a car to get around and I'd probably recommend it if you wanted to go out often. Proyecto Asis is very close by, but the zip lines outside LA Fortuna were about 45 minutes away by car. I wish I'd planned a day to just stay and relax in the tree house, though.
