Confusing since they don't seem to sell much alcohol or food, like advertised. But we stayed in a tent for three nights and it was pretty cool. Tents are loud. You hear everything around you. Bugs animals cars and your neighbours *ahem. Beds are not awful, but not great. Loud to move around on in general. Pool and lounge areas...

Overall, my girlfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Arenal Backpackers Resort and Hostel. The property is gated with a 'security guard' so we never felt unsafe, and the hostel is located within brief, well-lit walking distance to stores & restaurants. We didn't use the pool, but did see that it was cleaned daily, and the hammocks were a nice...

My best friend and I got picked up by one of the (beautiful) employees of this hostel, right from the airport (well, not very far from it). He drove us up to the hostel (about a 2 hour drive) and we stopped at a local ceviche restaurant on our way there. He recommended that we tried the mixed ceviche and...

If you go to La Fortuna, you must stay here. It is very low cost, has a great atmosphere, and a great property. I stayed in the dorms, which were very clean. The staff was very helpful and there were lots of tours to take. GREAT PLACE TO STAY!!

They self proclaim to be 5 star hostel which is not far from the truth. Swimming pull, hammocks, monkey bars, great cafe and volleyball net make sure there is always something to do. Vibe is great. everybody gathers by the reception and socialises in the evening.

When we arrived at the hostel at 11 AM we were asked about the reservation and could see something was not right. We asked the guy in the reception what was wrong, but his answer was "please wait until checkin at 14.00". So we waited. And waited. We waited until 1445 before someone would start our checkin and at that...

We spent 3 nights in the tent accommodation. The tents are a good alternative to the dorms or the more expensive doubles, the only issue we had was the poor quality sheets that didn't fit the bed. The rest of the resort is very spaced out over a large area, the pool being the focal point (just a point on...

For a hostel, this place goes above and beyond. It feels more like a hotel really. The grounds are great with a swimming pool and a trampoline. Their in-house bar and restaurant serves great food (a hearty breakfast and dinner). The guys at reception are not only nice and accommodating but also gorgeous. Anyway, I really enjoyed my stay. We...

My sister and I stayed at Arenal Backpackers for 3 nights in mid December. We loved the location! It rained non stop and we knew our stuff would never dry so we used the laundry service and everything came back problem free. We booked all our tours through vendors on the street for cheaper and had no problems (just know...

The staff here were knowledgeable, young and friendly. I had such a good vibe of this place. It was chill, full of young people and so safe. I really enjoyed the safety factor since we were in a private room the first couple of nights and then ended up switching to a tent the last night. I'm not a fan...
