We stayed in a dorm one night and a double room for the second. No complaints on the double room - bathroom was big and there was aircon. The only negative was the bathroom in the dorm room was tiny and the window overlooked the kitchen. You couldn't see anything but felt strange using the loo when you could hear... More

We got our own Room for 4 and was satisfied with privacy, friendliness, and cleanliness. We got a free welcome drink which was awesome and prepared by an awesome lady name LUCY. We Loved her, very knowledgable with the area. I will stay here again if I ever travel back in Costa Rica

This was our second stay in a hostel and we did not know what to expect. We were not disappointed! Our receptionnist Jenny was a gem! She suggested the best spots to visit during our stay in La Fortuna. The rooms and the shared spaces are very clean. The welcoming cocktail was the bomb! I would recommend this place to... More

This was an unplanned stay, and it was great. This is in a great location, close to restaurants, etc. It was pouring, but there were hammocks and a lovely garden area that we didn't get to enjoy. We did use their second location's restaurant/bar for dinner though, and it was also very attractive and good. The staff was very nice... More

I booked this hostel because the resort location was full but it was great! The room was good for sleeping, but the best part was the wonderful front desk staff Nani and the handsome Jordan at the bar. Make sure to get the buffet breakfast at the resort location. Fill up on like a million calories of delicious Costa Rican... More

Super chill atmosphere. Lane, the hostess, was as pleasant as they come and made us feel right at home. Actually, all of the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. We especially appreciated that there was a night guard on duty. We were told he would keep an eye on our rental car if we parked in front of the hostel,... More

Booked this hostel for our backpacker tour and we were not let down. We stayed at the sisterhotell 1 and a half block away from the one with the pool. The woman at the reception was superfriendly and helped us plan our hiking and other tours. She informed about the guided tours etc, but did not force it upon us... More

Cleanliness = 4/5 - Really nice and Clean environment. The shared bathroom/shower was cleaned everyday, but got a bit messy by the end of the night. Hospitality = 5/5 - Staff were friendly and very accommodating. Owner was very nice and easy going. He also gave us some great travel tips on what free things you could do. LOCATION =... More

We traveled as a group of 4 friends. We had reserved a room (8 months in advance) at the Arenal Hostel Resort only to learn upon arrival that they were booked up and were going to put us in a room at their sister location Hostel Backpackers. I was very disappointed and unsure what we had gotten ourselves into. Christian... More

Quite expensive (48USD for two persons), without any charm, loudy (traffic don't stop in the street during the night and walls are very thin so it was very difficult to sleep), with an hasardous hygien of the bed (matress looked very dirty and we felt our skin scrattchy in the morning). I would not try that option again.
