We stayed here when we arrived in Costa Rica and we were very glad we did (so much so, we chose to stay here again at the end of our trip). Firstly, Alajuela is much closer to the airport than San Jose and more relaxed - a good place to get over your jet lag. Secondly, Vida Tropical is well...

We, 2 parents and 8 teenagers, stayed at Vida Tropical for one night at the beginning and end of our trip to the Osa. It was clean, everyone was helpful and friendly and it was within walking distance to the market. The price was very inexpensive and included breakfast. I've already booked another one night stay for this December.

We stayed one night because the last bus to our destination left less than an hour after our plane was scheduled to arrive in San Juan. It was a good decision and we enjoyed our stay enough that we spent the night before departure here too. It's not fancy, but the rooms are comfortable, the people who run it pleasant...

Four stays at Vida Tropical in two years, and we’re glad to keep coming back. Quiet, secure neighborhood minutes from the airport. Clean, comfortable rooms at reasonable rates including delicious, cooked-to-order breakfast. Hospitality sets them apart: friendly, resourceful, and bilingual, the owners provide exceptional assistance with travel needs.

Just stayed one night before heading north. Isabel, her little son and the whole family were really nice and helpful. We stayed in clean bamboo room with a good bed and good breakfast even though bathroom is shared i didn`t mind it. A tranquil place (i dont know how busy it might get in high season) to come back!

Hi: Thanks for the review, we want to hear all the good things and bad that our guests experience. Regarding the Garden Room, as the name states and you know, it sits in the back on the property, in the middle of our lush garden. That´s the good news and bad news. As such, it is the recipient of a...

My boyfriend and I recently traveled around Costa Rica for a month. Upon arrival and the day before our departure we chose to spend the night at Vida Tropical. Isabel, the owner, does a fabulous job of making her guests feel comfortable. She was extremely helpful when it came to making further arrangements such as; cab or shuttle rides. The...

During our recent visit to Alajuela we stayed at Vida Tropical up on a recommendation from a friend. My friend and his family are frequent guests of this B & B and now I know why. We enjoyed our stay at this friendly, clean and charming family style bed and breakfast. We chose the Garden room which had its private...

Vida Tropical is a sweet, hidden charm in a neat little city by the airport. It is literally the family home with a couple of big, comfortable rooms to sleep several (family style, bunkbeds and all), as well as a few smaller rooms. The bathroom is shared, but during my two visits, there was only one other guest staying, so...
