My wife and I have stayed here many times over the past few years. The staff is always friendly, and very helpful. The accommodations are comfortable, clean, and we have always had a restful stay. The hotel is situated in a safe, quiet neighborhood, and within short (5 minutes) walking distance of restaurants. We recommend this place, and plan to...

I'm usually a good sport, but this hotel was just too rough for me. It hardly qualifies as a hotel or bed and breakfast. First of all, it is VERY difficult to find (don't trust their directions). Second, you'll be sharing a bathroom, and it's not especially clean (that's usually my only qualification for a hotel). Our bedroom was tiny,...

Well, nothing like an unfavorable review to bring you back down to earth, we´ve had so many nice ones. I´m sorry this nice couple had such a bad experience, but you can´t please everyone, and they are definitely entitled to their opinion, We´ll keep trying!!

We've stayed at VT 3 times and it is the one place our children absolutely love. No beaches, volcanoes or monkeys but amazing, wonderful people who made us feel at home and were always there when we needed something. VT is located on a nice quiet street just a few short blocks from Alajuela Centro. The B&B itself is a...

As frequent flyers to Costa Rica, we've stayed at Vida Tropical many times for our first and last night stays near the airport. Everyone needs a special 'home base' near the airport to land after arrival and later for return. Before arriving on my first trip, I was very fortunate to receive much helpful advice from VT's owner, Jose. I...

A good B&B with freshly cooked breakfast, fun rooms with kinky decor. Easy to get to with rental car and good location to branch out all over that section of Costa Rica. Ability to check the internet.

I have stayed at Vida Tropical 2 times. Once with my 2 daughters, once by myself. The staff of Isabel and Norman are very helpful. Norman has a good Tex Mex restaurant in Alajuela. The rooms and comfortable and clean. The location is on a quiet street but not too far from the main square of Alajuela. The breakfast is...

We spent two nights in Vida Tropical and it was extremely relaxing and friendly. They serve really good breakfast and don't hesitate to call a cab for you at 4am. We had the garden room, which was very nice, clean and we slept like kings. Thanks to Jose for his hospitality, you can bet we'll be back on our next...

My wife and two young kids stayed here for three weeks in July/August of this year when the apartment we had been renting fell through. My kids had been going to school and we needed something located close to the school. I called Isabel and she gave me a wonderful rate for three weeks. You expect as a traveler that...

Every time we visit Costa Rica, Vida Tropical is the place for us! 5 min. from the Airport, it couldn't be more convenient. Alajuela is a cute town, with some great restaurants. Isabel couldn't be more friendly & helpful in arranging transportation to anywhere in Costa Rica. The rooms are not luxurious, but very adequate for an overnight. The common...

“As should be expected, the rooms along the front street side are more subject to the motorcycle and car noise during the day and into the evening some. The Terrace room bed was fine for sleeping, but it's a Murphy bed and has a hard wooden edge all around it. I don't know if the other rooms are the same.”
