This is a reasonable place to crash from a long journey into San Juan. Main pluses were secure parking if you have hired a car, very close to airport ( a couple of kilometres). Price was ok. $75 for the night. I had to pay cash on arrival and they had no change. Room is ok. Air conditioning left something...

Our first-ever stay in Costa Rica started at Hotel 1915. (We had chosen to stay in Alajuela instead of San José because it was both very close to the Juan Santamaría International Airport and an excellent base for excursions in the natural sites of the Central Valley.) The rooms had everything we could think of to satisfy our basic needs....

We have stayed here twice during our trip to Costa Rica due to the hotel's great location near the international airport (10 minutes by car). The hotel doesn't look very special from the outside but from the inside you see a beautiful old building with ancient furnishings. The rooms are nice and clean (though we had a cockroach in our...

Stayed in January with a missions team and found this hotel to suit all of our needs. The manager on duty,Darwin went out of his way to ensure our team all had comfortable rooms- even upgrading some of us to a spacious suite with living area as well as a private balcony seating area. A huge plus for 3 women...

Our family stayed here in March as a stop over between the airport and our shuttle to Cabuya. The hotel is in the heart of Alajuela on a narrow street and has a great old world vibe. Our room was very basic (but clean) but I was able to check out some of the other rooms and they were very...

Manager Darwin was an EXEMPLARY host to my 31 high school students and 3 chaperones traveling to Costa Rica over this spring break. He and his staff made us feel like we were guests in their home, answering questions and seeing that our every need was met. The food was excellent, the room quality and cleanliness was EXCELLENT. The ambiance...

The Hotel 1915 is an excellent location to enjoy downtown Alajuela. The rates are very reasonable and the hotel has a great design and history. Breakfast was included in our stay and was very tasty and timely served. The staff was very friendly and many of the guests are mission workers from the USA who make a point of staying...
