We love staying in historic hotels and this was no exception. Our room overlooked the Alabama river and we so enjoyed sitting outside in the early evening. The decor could use refreshing, but otherwise quite comfortable especially for the price.

I am fairly particular but the room we ended up with was more than adequate,A/C working and not musty.We had suite on 1st floor,corner suite nearest the Pettus bridge overlooking the river with a balcony,the view from which was amazing.Only minor point was some of the curtains do not hang properly,otherwise it was the most interesting and authentic hotel we stayed in over a 7 state road trip.
