Stayed this hotel for 4 days and 3 nights following the tour. The hotel building looks like 5 star hotel but when you went into the room I won't even call it hotel. Everything inside the room need to be upgraded. The reception is very unkind when we requested to change into non smoking floor. They just spray air refresher...

This is 5-star hotel by local standards, but it is horrible, I wouldn't give it even 1-star. The A/C didn't work, so the room was around 30C during our stay. One wing of the hotel was closed when we were there. Our hotel room door had a broken frame; several tiles in the room were chipped; carpet were old and...

Stayed here one night on a 7 day shanghai region shopping tour. The trip was free including airfare, so we couldn't really complain about the standard. This building is grand in concept and if you have bad eyesight and cannot smell the mildew and mold, you might even think it is a beautiful place. But beware - they have a...

Warning! Do not stay in this hotel! We joined the 99 dollar chinese tour and we stayes in this hotel. The hallways are dark, bed sheets are sticky and walls are extremelly mouldy. Worse of all the air conditioning does not work. It is bad to a point that they brought a fan into the room. Also the lobby to...

this was included in the budget tour package. Check-in was slow. Room was hot, very hot . Air conditioner did not work. All surfaces were sticky. Just wondered when was the last time it was wiped and cleaned. Carpets were stained and dirty. Shall I say more ? The buffet breakfast was another experience. You fight your way to get...

I rarely give bad review of a business...but this time is my second visit to this hotel. And the condition of the room is bad...the water wasnt flowing out properly due to drainage problem. The breakfast was average...the hotel should be improved if they dont want to lose customers.. I wouldnt recommend to stay in this hotel if the conditions...

This hotel is one of the worst during my time in China. Basically the rooms are ok, a bit old and dusty but spacious. The hotel itselve is huge but with only a few visitors many facilities are out of order ie closed. The worst thing was the smell from the garbage piled up at the back of the hotel....

Stayed at the Grand Tang, twice in one week on a budget Shanghai area tour. The rooms on both occasions were of low end standard but definitely not 5 star more like 3 star. May have been 5 star 20 years ago but now appears run down. Definitely not to international standards e.g. stained carpets and rough edges everywhere. Swimming...

The only thing of merit is this hotel is within walking distance to the Shanghai Circuit. The hotel is quite run down. I walked around my floor and it seemed some of it wasn't even occupied - lights off and paint peeling from the walls and ceiling. The carpet was filthy, but at least they provided slippers - wear them!...

In general very dirty, no maintenance & dangerous design. Room was not vacuumed for the 2 nights we stayed there. I suspect it wasn't vacuumed before we checked in as well. Carpet immediately below entrance door frame had a thick layer of dust. Wall paper peeling off, wardrobe doors missed aligned and cannot close properly. Wash basin and the counter...
