We had a comfortable stay in our 2 bedroom apartment. The room was very impressive - again huge, like everything in this hotel, although the gizmo for closing the curtains and switching lights on/off required a great deal of practice! The hotel lobby is impressive also, even by Shanghai hotel standards, and the rooms are excellent in both size and... More

Stayed here for 3 nights for business. The hotel lobby reminds me of the extravagance of some Vegas hotels. It is huge with lots of marble and gold and large displays of art/antiques. The rooms are large and comfortable and wifi is free and working (albeit not the fastest wifi in the world). The staff are standard for what you... More

I recently stayed here one night with my young daughter as she had a dance recital nearby early the following morning. I was impressed with the decor - high ceilings, beautiful handicrafts and decoration throughout the lobby and elevator landings. The rooms are large and attractive. It took me a little while to figure out the remote for adjusting the... More

The hotel is very impressive. It´s almost like staying at a Five Star Hotel in Las Vegas. The decoration is amazing. The breakfast buffet has different options and it´s included in the room price. The options for lunch and dinner are not so good, but the pizza is delicious! For late snacks (I couldn´t sleep with the time zone change)... More

Upon entry to the hotel, we were awed by the massive lobby and high ceiling, all decorated with impressive decorations! We also cant believe and jumped in joy when we entered our rooms - which are equally enormous for a hotel room's standard. Large bathroom (with shower and bathtub), huge living corner, and spacious sleeping area coupled with study table.... More

I stayed at this hotel twice during my recent visit to Shanghai. Both times arriving late at night. For some reason the taxi drivers can not get the entrance right and both arrivals, and numerous times during my stay, I was dropped at the exit and walked from there. The entrance to the main hotel past the concierge is grand.... More

I spent 2 nights at the sky fortune during November 2014. On the upside the rooms were very spacious and well decorated (like the rest of the hotel). On the downside you could tell that the building is getting old and the maintenance level could be better. The toilets klogged up easily and the carpet needed replacement. Breakfast was average... This is certainly my worse hotel experience EVER. This is a shame to call this a 5* hotel, it would barely deserve 2*. I thought I was having a good deal on a suite for 5 nights, but what a trap! As soon as I walked in I noticed the stains on the carpet, that is so disgusting, and stains... More

Neighbourhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
