The room was nice and clean. Air conditioning was pretty loud. Breakfast is awesome because there is a awesome toaster that you can select a temp. The metro station was a 50 metres away. Fast check in. I do suggest this for random travelers, but if you're a family and you want a silent room, go to radisson blu.

The location is fantastic, MRT within 3 minutes walk. Nearby places of interest within walking distance. XinTianDi, pets market, antique market within 20 mins walk. You can taste the local food whereby locals are in Q! Hunt for yourself.

Rooms are airy, clean and very good. Hotel staff is very supportive. I have stayed here for 4 nights. Location is very good (walking distance for people's square, Nanjig Road, The Bund, Shanghai Tech Museum). Restaurant need makeover with modern dining tables and facilities.

Hotel was very far from airport about 1.30hrs Located in city centre Staff does not speak English well hence service is big issue. Very limited continental items in breakfast. Housekeeping does not understand English. WiFi does not in all rooms. Reception Staff was courteous and only english understanding staff but that too broken.

The rooms we stayed in were in total disrepair. The bedding was less than adequate, the pillows were old, the bathroom was dirty with mold on the walls, walls cracked and tearing, tears in the lineolium floor. We would have not stayed, had I not already paid for the rooms and knew I would loose the full price of both... More

My chinese partner and I were staying in Shanghai for two nights, and we booked the Shen Garden hotel in advance via a chinese online agency. The room which was first given to us had a very unpleasant view to the back side, including a pile of garbage thrown out there, so we asked to move and got a room... More

Staying in Xintiandi

Neighbourhood Profile
Xintiandi
The refurbishment of a block of old shikumen into a carless entertainment center called Xintiandi, filled with restaurants, shops and bars, turned this area below South Huangpi Road into one of Shanghai’s most fashionable areas. Luxe condos house people who can afford the high-end brands that fill the malls and shops along Madang Road. The pleasant Taipinghu Park provides the area with green space and is also home to Shanghai Fashion Week twice a year. It’s not all glitter and glamour, though, as the rise of Danshui Road has given the Xintiandi area a shot of toned-down character. Small bars and cafes, mostly owned by locals, have people hanging out in a formerly quiet, unassuming part of the neighborhood.
