Really enjoyed our stay. The apartments are situated in a complex with restaurants, coffee shops, Starbucks, supermarket and meters from the Ritz Carlton. The district is superb. My colleague, a local Chinese, said it is her favorite area of Shanghai. It is also close to...More
I have been living in the Shanghai Centre for years and love their "city in the city". Shanghai Centre offers all the amenities of the Portman Ritz Carlton hotel, plus countless restaurants and bars, but also provides a lovely bakery, supermarket, bank, retail shops, florist,...More

The heart of this neighborhood is the Jing'an Temple, while the main artery of excitement and entertainment is West Nanjing Road. Close to the Former French Concession, the area has a similar draw for foreign residents but displays a more commercial character. Large, flashy malls, luxe residential high-rises and trendy nightlife areas can be found along West Nanjing Road, but areas off the busy street have the same
quiet cafes and independent boutiques that many people think of as distinctive of the Former French Concession. Jing'an is less encased in amber, though, and it's possible to immerse yourself more fully in the energy of China's most bustling metropolis here.
