A friend recommended this apartment hotel, it is around 120 sq metres, with 2 bedrooms sleeping 3 persons and 2 bathrooms and 2 satellite TVs, good wifi, and a kitchen with full cooking equipment . Heating worked well from A/C units and plenty of hot water . (it was winter when we visited) We were short of cutlery and just...

Overall a really great place to stay. We had a big 3-bedroom apartment on the 9th floor. Big living room, a dining room, a full kitchen, 3 washrooms with 2 baths. Washer and dryer (no detergent). Room cleaning everyday. Quiet double pane glass windows and doors The lobby gets busy at times because there is usually only one person running...

We stayed in a 3-bedroom unit in Sept. for 2010 EXPO. The agent clearly told us that it had 1 king (1.65 M) and 2 single beds, could only fit in upto 4 ppl, which was exactly what we had. The unit we stayed was facing the pool with unobstructed view and very quiet. The apartment is in the Miramar...

I've often read on TripAdvisor of those awful hotels, but thankfully had never stayed at one. Until now. The Mirimar Apartments are a disgrace. They are dishonest, have no concept of hotel service, they scream at their guests and will do everything in their power to get extra money out of you. Stay away from this hotel at all costs....

We had a great time at the Miramar Apartment in Shanghai. At only RMB950 per night for a 3-bedroom suite, we thought it was really value for money. The apartment had a living room, dining room, kitchen and even a maid's room and toilet. There was one bedroom with a double bed for two, and two single bedrooms. Each room...

Stayed here for two weeks in a 3 bedroom apt. with my family of 4. The apartment was spacious, 3 bedrooms/2 baths, full kitchen, and plenty of space for 2 active boys to run around. However, the building and unit is old, with aging fixtures that need upkeep and renovation. There's also an extremely limited amount of kitchenware. The service...

The Miramar was booked for us by a friend living nearby, and for a three-bedroom apartment, the price was reasonable. Despite the occasional language difficulty, the staff was responsive, and the rooms were modern, neat, and clean. Lots of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our only dissatisfactions were that the hotel was a bit far from the central business/shopping/entertainment districts...

Staying in Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang

Neighbourhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
