Overbooked and left with no rooms when I checked in. Severe ethical issues and unwilling to assist with other bookings. Seriously irresponsible management. Do not stay at all costs, less you want to be ripped off and stick with unreliable bookings. Not worth it.

The hotel is well overrated and all they wanted to do was rip as much money as possible out of your pocket. The trainee check in lady I had was fine but still.opeeated as noted above. The way of operation is to charge for as much as possible. Wi Fi did not work but guess that was extra, did not...

The hotel was great. Although I only stayed 1 night. Breakfast was good too. All amenities were ready and the bed was comfortable. Only problem was getting a cab during peak hours. The concierge want of much help. In the end, we had to use the booking app after waiting for 30 minutes

I stayed four nights in a standard room during a business trip. The room was very spacious, tastefully decorated and clean. The bathroom is also huge and nicely designed. I particular enjoyed the freestanding bathtub with a TV hanging at the wall. Unfortunately the walk-in shower was partly broken and therefore it was not possible to switch from the regular...

Nice big clean room, comfy bed, bathtub with TV ..., all is good except the WiFi in my room wasn't working, I believe it's just a single incident. Didn't have a chance to check out gym and pool; ordered a sandwich from room service, wasn't very good. There's not much within walking distance: there's a Family Mart across the road,...

Came here for three nights and i am not disappointed. The hotel is clean and the room looks quite nice. Staffs aren't particularly helpful though. But still a great experience in general. It is located in the city centre, but pretty far away from the subway station. Quite a few restaurants nearby.

Stayed here on a recent business trip to Shanghai, room was excellent with all of the facilities you need, clean, good quality and huge bed Reception was ok, pretty slow at check in and check out. Concierge boys were hard working and nothing was too much trouble for them. I will be back.

I had the reservation made for me and at the back of my mind I thought it would be a tired hotel giving average service. The check in supported that view with one girl attempting to check in many people. After that though it got better. The room was spacious and well equiped. The bathroom was a big surprise with...

I really enjoyed staying here. The hotel is great even for a longer business trip. I love the gym, pool and sauna. Die not expect this high quality. I stayed at premier class room which is spacious and clean. equiped with large TV, DVD and Internet. Service is good, mostly good English speaking staff. I used laundry service. Okay but...

I just got a normal room, not a Japanese style room aside by the freeway but the noise level was low. The hotel was a little bit old but the service was OK. Wifi is separated by rooms. Each room has its own password. Taxi is ok but you need to walk for subway.

Staying in Zhongshan Park

Neighbourhood Profile
Zhongshan Park
The residential and commercial areas around the beautiful grounds of Zhongshan Park have never been considered particularly fashionable by a majority of Shanghai’s foreign residents, but plenty of expats do choose to live here. The park itself is a huge draw, providing a pocket of serenity in the middle of the metropolis. The area has its share of trendy shops with wares that can’t be found elsewhere, delicious restaurants with food ranging from fancy to affordable, and great hidden bars. Rents are also cheaper here than in other neighborhoods with the same conveniences. Aside from the obvious attractions, with its neighborhood fix-anything shops and pop-up street stalls that sell anything you need, you’ll never sacrifice Western comforts.

“Make sure to clarify that you want nonsmoking. It may not always be possible, but I can guarantee that my room hasn't been smoked in recently and no ashtrays are available. If you get a south-facing room, you will be overlooking the highway. As is often the rule in Shanghai, if you get a good view, you are in a more expensive floorplan. Be sweet to the checkin and if occupancy is low, they may upgrade you just out of kindness. All staff in big hotels are given a little bit of leeway to accommodate a few guests per week. Hallways were super quiet the entire time, with staff clearly not belting loud conversations through the hallway during housekeeping - something many hotels in the world, not just in China, could learn from. Cheers to that!”
