The building looks actually really great, and the rooms where nice too so from the hardware, I do recognise the Marriott signature here, but the service really ruined it for me! I don't have impossible expectations, but when I am ordering a club sandwitch from Room Service at 5pm, the answer should not be: "I am sorry Sir, the staff...

Surprisingly upscale for a Courtyard. Breakfast buffet is huge and varied (who cares if they don't know how to make eggs or sausage? You don't come here for western food so go with the noodles and dumplings). Exec floor lounge is comfy with an extensive evening spread that could serve as dinner. The gym/pool is spacious and may be the...

One quick night at this property during a recent biz trip to Shanghai. Got there late and left early the next morning. Check in service was quick and friendly. Room was very good. Executive lounge breakfast and meeting room were perfect. I would return.

On my first trip to Shanghai I was a little bit apprehensive on what to expect. Pleasantly surprised with the Courtyard and I would recommend this hotel to business travellers who are visiting the Gateway Towers area of Shanghai. Room decor was modern, however I found the air con in the room difficult to keep at a cool (rather than...

Room good, breakfast great, health club... TERRIFIC! If you are doing business in the area stay at this hotel. I will most definitely be staying here on my return trips. The MOMO lounge in the lobby is an excellent place for a few drinks before retiring for the night.

Service and rooms were fine. Beds were good as always with Marriot brand However the worst breakfast I have come across Stale, Rock Hard Pastries, lots of items were cold when should have been kept warm, service was also lacking in visibility. Will stay again but eat at Starbucks across the road

Right from the time you walk in you feel welcome at this hotel. It is attractive, clean, and the rooms are large. I like that they have an executive lounge. Breakfast was good, and snacks, and a glass of wine, in the evening is always nice. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a convenient hotel in downtown Shanghai.

Compared to other hotels in the area (Huating, for instance), this Marriott has no impressive common areas, no impressive architecture. But furnitures in the rooms are very fine and quick check ins/out, large breakfast options, general atmosphere indicate a careful management. Room: I got an upgraded one, definitely large enough, with sofa, ameninites, glass-walls-bath, iron board -all you should pretend...

Hotel has compact but well appointed rooms, with no wall between the bedroom and bathroom this makes for a more open and larger feel to the room. A pleasant stay in a good location within easy walking distance to large shopping malls and dinning areas...

I've stayed here for business twice and both experiences were very nice. The hotel itself seems very new, the rooms are nice and comfortable, the common areas are nice, the executive lounge is spacious and well staffed. The lifts are horrendously slow! Maybe this is cause every floor shows you the location of each lift (Typically just a ground floor...

Neighbourhood Profile
Gubei / Hongqiao / Minhang
West of Shanghai’s better-known business, cultural and entertainment centers, lies an expansive area of residential neighborhoods peppered with lifestyle pockets that have their own unique attractions. The schools have formed pockets of international communities throughout Gubei, Hongqiao and Minhang. Quite a few entertainment and shopping centers have built up over the years to cater to these communities. While living here means you are relatively far away from Shanghai’s usual hot spots, the large parks, spacious homes and proximity to great Japanese and Korean food keep the neighborhoods popular.
